Unemployment Support Group
Recently unemployed or frustrated with the job search? Unemployment can affect more than just the bank account - it has a negative effect on motivation and self-esteem, even sense of identity. This community addresses the challenges associated with unemployment and how to cope.
I have never worked for a public employer, so I can only react to what happens here in Wisconsin. There may be some good ones out there, but but at present they only cost me more taxes.
As you know, the public sector union people became upset when Gov. Walker made a few minor changes to union employee benefit cost sharing and collective bargaining. The State liberals and union people went balistic, several legislators leaving the State so they didn't have to vote on the proposals. Huge numbers of public union workers mobbed the State capitol, causing much filth and destruction and costing the tax payers lots of money. Then there was the recall effort which Walker won pretty easily. What did that do for us - cost us lots of taxpayer dollars.
Unemployment everywhere sucks right now. As I write this, illusionist Obama is saying on TV that the unemployment is down and things are going the right direction. This pisses me off because it isn't true!!
I'm not here to put down, or for that matter to put up either public or private sector. I'll form an opinion when I get a job, hows that. But for now the facts are that nationally, 85% of all jobs are created by small businesses - that is the private sector and middle class. For now and for my past, the public sector has only cost me money.
From what I can understand this was nothing more than a purely political move by your Governor for votes from disaffected people who are looking for work,,,I really do sympathize with this targeted population,,,but their anger and frustration has been manipulated and redirected VERY SKILLFULLY,,,We have much the same problem in Florida with our Governor who I have total distain for and who has done nothing but sold away state services to the highest and most incompetant companys ,,mostly out of state corporations,,
All this has little to do with Obama,,with whom I have issues with ,,I feel that he hasn't gone far enough on many issues,,,,he for instance should inatitute a modified WPA program for much of the country, which he hasn't.
I know a bit about the 1930's from studying the period ,,,,and we are not that far from those conditions ,,,,in a different dynamic and a different age,,I don't believe for one second the myth of "the job creators" and 85% of all jobs being from the private sector though I will buy into in being a bit over half,,and at this point the numbers are ridiculously low and with so much capital in the markets at present,,, it makes my point ,,,..in spades...
I disagree that the unemployment situation has little to do with Obama. He is supposed to be leading this country, but instead apologizes for our existence, and continually lies about everything. We need a leader that knows how to create jobs from having been there.
You can believe the employment numbers you choose to believe, and whether public is better than private. You can call anything a "myth" because you don't believe it. Facts don't lie! 85% of all jobs are being created by small businesses.
I do agree with you on one thing - You sure are seeing this from a different place. By the way, why don't you write in plain english, skip the unending commas, and write in a different support group. You aren't a member of this group.
