Wow, I can't believe no one has answered this yet. I am a mom of adult Identical 'girls. They started kindergarten in the same class but because they looked so much alike (I never dressed them as twins) the school said they needed to be in separate classes from then on. In 6th grade, they asked to be together for their last year. I had to petition the school board to get them together.

Wow, I wonder if the school would have still forced you separate your girls if they were starting 1st grade now instead of years ago. How did they do being separate and then back together in the 6th grade? I mean socially and academically, and would it have been different if they were always able to be in the same class? Did you have to deal with them competing against each other to do better than the other?

My twins are now in High School. The school has always separated them, they do not want siblings in the same class.

Other than Kindergarten they have always been separated and I think it was great for them. It helps them to each develop their own personalities, peer groups, etc.

My girls have always done great with it.

This is my issue as of fall they start kindergarten and they are so different one is so quick and the other takes repetition. Twins are always compared and i don't want them to compete yet i think they want to stay together:) not identical so no problem their but they do fight for each other and may distract other kids :)

I am an identical twin my mom always insisted we be in the same class but I feel as a twin we needed time part to grow into our own person.The kids at school always called us the twins never by our names I also feel twins should not be dressed the same.i do love being a twin I was born with my best friend

I go back and forth on this issue! I have also realized that my girls seem to have a little anxiety from this and are now worried about the reasons for the school not wanting them to be together, they would like to be together. But because of what I know about my girls...right now...I feel they need to grow with friends they most like and not only with the friend their sister likes and if they all come together great and as I reading this I am ready to change my mind!!!!!! but I have decided to come at from a siblings reason and not a twin issue! I will let you know how it goes!
