seems so. I still get regular help from my mom and sometimes my inlaws but its not as consistant. Course then I broke my foot last Dec and got a ton of help then as well.... but it seems once people think you got the whole twin mommy thing figured out then you don't need all the extra help and they go back to their own lives.

We ran into the same thing. We have 18 month old twins. All kinds of help at the beginning, first 6 months or so then it stopped. We still have pretty much the same group wanting to visit now and then but not to help. In fairness, the first 6 months is REALLY when you need the most help BUT the challenges of twins do not seem to go away at any age....

I kind of noticed that too, but we're very lucky that between my mom, sister, sil and niece we still get alot of help. I think once the family sees that you can handle it, then they back off a little bit.

yea the same thing happens with singletons too. A few months after my daugther was born all the help was gone. I am preggo with twins this time so everyone is getting ready to help again but I am sure it will fizzle out in a few months, same as the last time :) but this time I plan to take ALL the help I can get and enjoy it like never before :)

I had to ask the family to stop coming. I wanted some alone time with my three. I am their mom and I wanted my time. I also had someone imply that I couldn't do it myself... it hurt my feelings so I asked for almost everyone to stop coming. My dad still comes and I go get stuff done during their naps. My little sister comes on mondays and helps me feed them... then she goes to work. I miss the company, and I can't really get out as much as other people. So I guess I was very lucky.
