They most definitely will fit in one crib together...probably til they're 6 mos. That's what I did w/mine and they didn't wake each other up at all.

U r welcome. My girls are now 4 and they still have a very close bond...although they fight like cats and dogs at times too :-)

We kept our twins together for the first few months (even in the same pack-n-play bassinet...my daughter slept better when she could feel her brother next to her (she was on the bottom in the womb, so I think she got used to that feeling). Anyway, we eventually separated them at about 4-5 months when my son would wake up in the middle of the night babbling. It was cute, but when he woke up his sister, it wasn't so cute anymore, so we moved them to different cribs and rooms. I think starting them together and then playing it by ear is the best way to go. My twins have always been in the same room, but seperate cribs. They are now 2.5. It is amazing how they can sleep through the other one screaming. Very cute to hear them in the morning talking to each other and handing each other toys and blankets from their cribs.

Mine were also together until around 6 months when they started kicking each other in the head :)
If you plan to have them in the same room for extended years I would start them together. They need to get used to each others noises. My boys are 2 and one can be screaming bloody murder in the middle of the night and the other one sleeps right through it. It would be torture to have them both woken up all the time!
Once they arrive, do what you are comfortable with and what makes sense to you. Don't worry about what your friends say, they aren't living with you. Always do what you need to for your own family!

My girls stayed had to stay in the nic-u for two months and they kept them together for about one month then separated them the last month or so. We kept them in the same crib until about 4 months when they started moving and rolling and I was scared one would smother the other. Then we separated them with no issues. They still had fun talking and trying to pass things to each other. After that we got them toddler beds at 2. They did great, other than wanting to jump. At 5 we got them bunk beds and every Sunday night we switch who is on top. It's a big game to throw the others' things to them. They will be fine no matter what you choose, but I say keep them close, but not inseparable.
