So I'm newly diagnosed with PCOS and my husband and I are TTC. The endocrinologist said that along with PCOS, I have hypothyroidism, so he stuck me on Levoxyl for it, and metformin to help us conceive.. My question is... When does AF come with metformin???? I haven't seen that witch in 2 years! lol, the deal is I don't have a cycle unless I'm on some kind of BC, but that's kind of defeating the purpose of TTC if I'm on BC to bring on AF right?

I have been on metformin for almost a year and I never have had my period on it "alone", I did get my period after I lost 15 lbs...then I have been on clomid for the last 2 mo...some women get their period on metformin and some don't, don't get discouraged, it really does take a while most women who it actually does work for it takes 3 months or more....keep your head up it may be a long road but that makes the end prize so much sweeter! Are you taking BC right now? If so, AF should start a few days after your last dose of BC. I don't have PCOS, but Jeanne is correct; Metformin helps some women with PCOS to have a period on their own and others still need Provera to bring on AF. Blessings and baby dust to you!

Hello, My cycle has always been off also, when I take metformin it comes to me every 32-35 days. If I am off of the pills for awhile and go back on I usually takes a week. I also had to take provera to get it going in the begining. Hang in there I am here if you need to talk. I am new to this site but I understand. Best Wishes to to.
