Does anyone prolong things or not plan future events because you think you might be pregnant? I've been doing this for 7 months now and it's so disappointing. Right after my miscarriage in May, I decided not sign up for the Chicago Marathon in October because I thought for sure I'd be pregnant by then. Wrong. I was in top shape and running all the time. Now because I didn't continue my training, I feel so out of shape and terrible. Then, in October I passed on a girl's trip to Vegas because I definitely thought I'd be pregnant by then. Wrong. The girls had such a great time and I keep seeing all the pictures and I'm so mad at myself. Now, another Vegas trip for February is in the works with my sister and another girlfriend and I'm on the fence. A part of me says don't go just because I feel like I should be taking care of my body (let's face it girls we don't treat our bodies great in Vegas right?) and another part of me says just do it, it's only a weekend. What should I do? Maybe this calls for another topic but this holiday season, I haven't been eating great and I've been drinking a bit more and I feel a bit guilty the way I've been treating my body.

I say, quit putting your life on hold! I bought tickets in Sept. to go to a ladies weekend seminar (in a huge arena) for this upcoming Sept. If I get preggo this month, I will be very far along and can't see myself being able to make it up and down the very steep steps (or ride the 2 1/2 hour drive) to sit in on the floor where my seat is!!!

Go to Vegas and have a great time!! Just be a little kinder to yourself if you get you BFP before going!

OMGosh! I can't even tell you how many things I have missed out on because I might be pregnant. More than I can count.

I do this every month!! We have a wedding to go to in November 2009 in Hawaii and I am already making plans for me not to go hoping I will be having a baby or be VERY pregnant...but who knows now. It's so hard not to think this way!

You know, things happen when we least expect lol, so please don't put your life on hold it only makes it harder on you when you have been waiting for something to happen and than it doesn't and you have passed up on a great time for fun you get even more upset making a already stressful situation even more so you know, so I say live your life as you would if you were not TTC and let natural take it course and you never know what might happen!!Good luck to you and keep trying, but don't stop having a life in the mean time k hugs to you

I do that all the time. And i had to stop. I got mad at myself for missing out on things. I think it will suck to have to eat the money on missing somthing but then I think about being pregnant and it totally wins. Go have fun and stop worrying. I use to live 2 weeks ot of every month as if i was pregnant. that makes it about 1/2 the year i acted like i was pregnant. Now i dont and i have fun and try to enjoy things.

Girl, the way I look at it is the way my grandmother used to say it...

"If "if" were a fith we'd all be drunk."

Meaning...don't worry about "what if's" focus on the right now.

Tomorrow is never promised and we don't ever know what our future holds.

Regarding the February trip to Vegas: why wouldn't you be able to go even if you were pregnant? February is only like two months away. You wouldn't be more than 2 months pregnant (give or take a few days). I'm not understanding what you will do that will cause you not to treat your body right. I can already tell that you work hard to keep in in tip top shape. You'll be fine...I'm sure you won't be laying on bar tops doing belly shots. I just don't know how a weekend trip would harm the baby.

Lawd knows I'd take a weekend trip away to Vegas or even down the street right now...anywhere with room service. It's good to get away sometimes...very few things can compare to a fun girl's trip.

Maybe I'm too casual about these kinds of things. When I was pregnant with my son (he's 7 now) I took many business and pleasure trips while pregnant all the way up to my 7th month. It was fine (but that's just me...to each her own).

You deserve to have a good time...whatever you decide.

Thank you for all your responses everyone. You all do sincerely make me feel better; and you're all telling me what I already know, but just need to hear. Al Jai, I love your sense of humor. I've read other replies you've posted and you crack me up everytime. Thanks for that! As far as what I'd do to my body in Vegas, well that would probably be consuming large amounts of alcohol and nobody can do that no matter how pregnant, early or late they are. Some people can go to Vegas and not drink, but I guess I'm a little different. Anywhere else, no problem, I can do whatever and not drink, but Vegas is a little different. I am definitely booking the trip but I'm buying insurance just in case. Thanks everyone!

I actually do the opposite. I am going to go and buy expensive skinny jeans this weekend in the hopes that I won't be able to wear them for more than a month or two. I'm a huge fan of reverse psychology. :-)

I wish I could tell you to continue to live your life but how could I tell you that when I am not doing that myself. I try to enjoy life but I put off so many things that I too can not count them.
