I'm a bit older than you, 30, and when my husband and I were your age we decided to wait, finish school, get great jobs, buy a home etc...Now that we have all that we are struggling to conceive. Sometimes looking back I wish we would have tried earlier. Because no matter what life is never perfect. You have to truly decide what is best for you. I know how hard that is!

Thanks Jessica. I know that it would be very very difficult if I were to get pregnant right now, but then I also know that people make it work in very unfavorable conditions all the time. So I'm stuck. I want that in my life and I know that we would figure out how to make it work, but I know how difficult it would be. Right now I'm not on bc and I want to kinda see what happens. But I don't know...

Babbit, I seriously know how it can feel. Me and my husband got married in 2004. I wanted a baby right away- he didn't. We kept putting it and off and off and finally in 2007 he relented and we ended up preggo with twins who are now 3. Now its the same story all over again. I yearn for an infant to hold. I still love my twins of course and I get lots of loves and cuddles but I expect there is something about a womans biological clock that makes these feeling happen. I'm really trying not to pressure my husband for more while at the same time "hoping for an accident" I'm not preventing anything. No BC for me. If he wants to prevent us from getting preggo then he needs to make sure he's covering the BC through condoms or other options. It really is a frustrating situation though because all the babies and preggo tummies around me make me want to have more kids and its just not a reality for me. I don't think there is a solution to getting past these feeelings but at least you know you have support and understand from me.

I understand what you're saying Adragon when you say you are "hoping for an accident." I am too. I also believe God has a plan. I'm not the Bible-thumping same-pew-every-Sunday kind of Christian, but I do believe in God and that he has a plan for everyone and everything. And I'm kind of convinced these feelings are given to me by him. I feel like he wants me to be a mother, but whether that is now or 10 years from now, I don't know. That's partly why I've stopped taking my BC too. If it's in his plan, I don't want to stop it....

My husband refuses to use a condom (he hates them). He insists that I continue using my BC so I don't get preggo, but I don't want to use it. I want nature to take its course. So if he can refuse to use condoms, can't I refuse to use my BC???

Hi Babbit, I've only just joined on here but will add my two cents worth if it helps at all!

1. I think if you want to have a baby, do it. You're obviously a mature young woman and have the correct mind set. I come from 9 children and my parents made it work.

2. I think your husband must know that you're not taking your birth control. It's not fair on him if he doesn't.

ya know, i'm right there with ya. my husband and i are 19 and 20. we are very young. we are both graduating college in may, and we have been trying to conceive for a year. i started trying last september even though i knew it wasn't right timing, and it hasn't happened. i am also a believer in God's plan and as i have seen, it wasn't the right time. we were originally planning to start ttc this september and as that time has arrived, i feel like we have a good chance of conceiving. it feels like God's plan is coming forth. i can't say that for a fact obviously.

i would say, if you aren't comfortable dont try. maybe just come off bc and go with it? you might come off bc as soon as possible because you might not get your cycle back for a few months. or you might conceive right away. i would say set a date in the near future as in a year or so, and then look forward to it. :) best of luck!

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. I'm still pretty unsure of what to do, so for the moment I'm letting nature take its course. My husband knows I'm off my BC and he still doesn't want to use a condom. I made sure he understood that meant we were both responsible if I do get pregnant because neither of us used any protection. He said ok. So I guess we will see.

Well I know lots of people who had children immediately at a young age. I personaly do not recommend it if your husband is not 100% certain. If you are not set financially either it is probably not a good thing. I know far to many people who start early and now in their 40's still cant catch up on bills etc. Like you I had the urge, all of a sudden one day I wanted a baby. I dealt with it for years and waited until we were very ready. I have one daughter who is 21 months old and trust me... parenting is not easy! Too many people have kids right after getting married and it ends up in divorce. My suggestion is to spend time with your husband getting your life set. My husband and I waited 8 years. If I could go back I would not change a thing. Having that many years to enjoy each other is crucial before rushing kids. That is only my point, many will differ.
