Hello everyone. My name is Alyssa. I'm 27 years old and my husband and I are trying to conceive our first child together. We got married in April and have been trying ever since. This month I started temping/charting and using OPKs. I have also been using Evening Primrose Oil. I've been having 32-43 day cycles (I think my body's still trying to regulate after being on birth control pills for 8.5 years).

Charting and OPKs are wonderful. After a couple months you will feel so in-tune with your body. I especially found OPKs helpful because I found out I was ovulating about an average of 5 days later than I had always thought.

Thank you! I'm definitely learning a lot about my body as well. The more I learn the more I find it hard to believe that more women don't try to learn about how their bodies work.

The more I learn, the more i'm surprised people can get pregnant at all! lol welcome to the TTC world. It's hectic here, and we disclose way more about our bodies and their fluids than you will find in any normal conversation lol. Charting temps is really difficult to do correctly, there are sooo many variables. Also keep in mind that while OPKs are great, they sometimes don't register with some people's bodies, and also have some different variables. The only for sure thing in this world is bloodwork (and expensive for most). WHenever you have a question, just pop it on here! Good luck!

P.S. if you find your not getting preggo as fast as you want to, tell the dr. you've been trying for a year. they usually won't start testing until then! just an FYI

I agree... I told my husband that a healthy woman in her 20s who's regular only has about a 20-30% chance of conceiving each month and he said "how are there so many people then?" Lol. Thanks for the advice. :) and I'm ok with talking about fluids and stuff. It's how we learn.

I also find OPKs helpful whether I'm taking Clomid/Fermera or not. It's just nice to have some confirmation of what's going on down there! I also use evening primrose oil and find that it helps with CM. hHave you tried using Pre-Seed yet? If not, it's worth a try for sure!

I agree with the comment about letting your Dr know you're having a tough time falling pregnant. I wish I would've went to the DR earlier than I had. DH and I are now 2 + years TTC with no pregnancies and the diagnosis of "unexplained inferility" I'm heading into my 30th year and all I can hear is TICK TOCK TICK TOCK!

Welcome! I'm pretty new here as well! Just joined last week! DH and I have been trying for 12 months now for our first and have an appointment in January to find out what's going on. I've already learned and read quite a lot from the ladies on here. They are very sweet and its nice to vent to girls instead of our husbands all the time!!! Good luck as you're TTC!!!

I have a similar story. 27 yrs old. Married in April (2008) and was birth control for 11 yrs. My cycle lasted for 3 wks and 3 days last month and now I'm late. At least I think I am, since getting off B/C I've been so irregular. I don't know when it's supposed to start since I bled for so long last month.
