Early ovulation?

So this is my 3rd month ttc and the last two months I never got a + on OPK's so this month i bought the Fertile-Focus saliva microscope to see if that'll work for me. I ususally didn't start using OPK's until CD 10 but I tried the saliva thing this morning and it's showing the ferning pattern which is an indication that ovulation is about to occur. The thing is that I'm only on CD 6. Can that be possible? Has anyone ever ovulated early or is it possible to O early? I'm confused.
Oh and I'm also trying Clomid this cycle so I wonder if that has anything to do with it.

Yes, it is possible to ovulate early. It's also possible to ovulate late. I haven't tried the saliva test yet. I ordered one and am waiting for it to arrive, so I can't really comment on that right now. And I also haven't tried Clomid yet, so again I can't comment on that. I would suggest doing some research though to see if anything comes up about the Clomid having an effect of the saliva, etc. Good luck!

Yes, definitely possible to ovulate early...I know I have!! A few years ago, I went for months without getting a positive result on the OPK because I kept starting to test on day 10 (as the instructions told me). So I was missing the window...finally one month I started testing early, on day 8 and got a positive on day 9.
I don't know about the clomid, though...whether it affects the saliva test or not. I'm on clomid as well, and I take it days 3-7, so technically I guess we're not supposed to ovulate until later, but you never know!

I havent heard of the saliva test....tell me more about it??? :) I take clomid on CD 5-9 and i usually ovulate late....on cd18. but everyone is different....so you could be ovulating early.
I'm upset though cuz i took clomid this month and today is cd19 for me and i havent ovulated yet......and i dont know why????

Maxwell17: The saliva test entails checking your salive under a microscope. Saliva acts the same way as CM when you are fertile, you'll see a "ferning" pattern on the microscope sample.
I've been doing research on it and it turns out that high estrogen levels will cause the ferning pattern and if you take Clomid, you may have that pattern all the time. That's probably what's happenning to me beacause I took OPK earlier and it was negative, but I will keep trying.
