I started taking Vitex in November, Vitamin D in December, and was visited by AF on January 1. I was hoping the Vitex was working and I would see AF again on the 29th, but she didn't show up. Instead I was hit with almost every symptom imaginable and wondering if I didn't get lucky and actually ovulate and have things timed just perfect. I took 2 HPTs, both came back BFN. I had an appt. with my gyne. and she did a blood test, along with tests for my thyroid, insulin, and cholesterol. It's been 2 weeks of waiting for the results, and I finally have my results... and still no real answers! I'm not pregnant this time around, but still experiencing the symptoms. My thyroid and other hormone levels are fine. My insulin, cholesterol, and testosterone levels are only slightly higher than they should be and not high enough to be causing any of the problems I've been experiencing. So I don't know what's going on, and I'm actually surprised I'm not sitting here sobbing and feeling worse than I am. Maybe I'm in shock or denial? I was really hoping this time would be different...

Most of my levels are pretty normal too. There are just a few things that were not where they should be, including progesterone. My doctor gave me progesterone and also put me on metformin and Vitamin D. I've experienced a bunch of weird symptoms of feeling tired all the time and sick and everything. Some of my friends said it could be my thyroid, but my doc said she really doesn't think my thyroid is causing any issues because the levels of it are right around where they should be. It's so frustrating not knowing what's going on! I've been to Obgyn doctors and now I'm currently seeing a hormone doc, and I still have no answers as to why my body doesn't have a period on its own! I always have to be on birth control or provera in order to have a period. It's frustrating! I'm trying not to stress about it as much as I used to because I know everything happens on the Lord's time. Good luck with everything! Just give it more time. I'm sure we'll all get our baby! The time just has to be right.

I had some problems with Vitex when I tried taking it again recently (I took it a few years ago too, but stopped after a miscarriage--pretty sure the vitex didn't cause the miscarriage, but just wanted to be safe). I would get early pregnancy symptoms (fatigue, nausea) every month for about a week around the time AF was due, which caused some big disappointments when all the BFNs came. I stopped taking Vitex after about 6 months, and haven't had any symptoms like that again. Your problem could be something else, but I just wanted to let you know what my experience was, even though I didn't have symptoms like that the first time I took it. I hope you get it resolved soon! :)

I've had these symptoms for the past month which is why I was really thinking this time was different. Usually I'll get these symptoms then they go away when I see the BFN on a HPT. Even when they didn't and I had to have a blood test done, they would go away within a week or so, before I even knew the results. Even now after hearing the results I'm still experiencing the symptoms! I decided to call a local Naturopath and set up an appointment to see if she could help where modern medicine seems to be at a loss for me. Its just nice to know that I'm not alone in all of this insanity!

Oh, and after spending an hour and a half in the ER tonight, I found out some of the symptoms were caused from a UTI and mild dehydration! Could have sworn I was drinking plenty of fluids, but I guess not enough under the circumstances! So now that I am on antibiotics, maybe some of the madness will settle down? Here's hoping the next month goes better than this last one has been!
