Hi everyone, my name is Stephanie and I suffer from panic attacks, OCD
and depression...I was wondering if anyone else has had panic attacks in
their sleep and have woken up in the middle of having one??...I take Lexapro
now and things have settled somewhat but it used to be so bad that I was
afraid of going to sleep incase I had a panic attack..During the day I can
do things, call someone, anything to help me curb the anxiety but when I
am sleeping I dont have that control of course..Was just wondering if
anyone else has had similar experience's...Thanks...xxxxxxxxx
i get panic attacks when i sleep too, but only if something is really troubling me. and in that case i have to talk myself through it or fix whatever is wrong before i can sleep again. i dont think my attacks get that bad, though.
I wake up sometimes having panic attacks. I will get this massive adrenaline rush and wake up gasping for air. I sleep with a fan on so I can focus on the noise or the cool air of the fan which usually helps me fall back asleep. There have been times though where I have had to go to the hospital because I couldnt shake it off and stayed in the panic attack for hours. When I get full blown attacks I can't walk and it feels like my body is vibrating on the inside. I hate when this happens, but I am usually lucky enough to pull myself out of them. I know I wont die now so I try and force myself back to sleep even if I have to do it several times in the same night.
I can relate to that having them while sleeping, to the point it had awaken me up, and I was still having it, and so I was sent to the hospital, then things claimed down.
The scariest one are when i am sleeping.. I can kinda control the ones when i am awake but if i wake up from sleeping with one.. It take medicine and me trying everything to calm them down.. They dont happen a lot but when they do OMG scary big time..
would have experienced it.
