See your doctor, but I think the twitching is temporary and will go away quite soon.

i dont know if it is the meds but i do know that has happend to me. I have fibromyalgia along with the TN and sometimes i think that really messes with my muscles. when my eye started twiching it really ticked me off. it went on for over 2 weeks. i happend to see my family dr for another issue. she thought it was stress and that my face is under so much strain it was fighting back. we forget how still we hold our faces, to protect from any more pain. she said the fibro didnt help and that unless it was messing with vision or became painfull that it should go away. That is my experience. if it is making uncomfortable or has you worried go to the dr. it wont get any better if it is stressing you out. good luck let us know how things go.

I haven't called the neurologist as the twitching is less frequent now though still there.
No sign of TN so far which is great. I hope I never get the pain again as I am now full time 24/7 caregiver to my husband and if this pain were to return I would not be able to manage.

I have had atypicalTND for 4+ years. Twitching comes and goes for me. And yes, for the most part this symptom did not seem to interest my MDS. Sometimes the twitching was so strong that I swear you could see it from across the room.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this symptom. It is really annoying but since it's a bit less frequent I will try and ride it out.

That's weird. Just this week, I had twitching on my non-TN side for hours. And actually, before the horrible pain started, I used to get almost like electrical shocks that only lasted a millisecond in that same eye. Then the pain hit on the other side. I still wonder why the twitching and shots of pain are on the non-TN side. Anyone experience this? I'm really glad to have found this site where people understand what I'm going through and don't think I'm nuts. : )

My twitching was on the same side as the TN- now both seem gone for now. What a relief!
Hopefully yours will disappear too.

Yeah, mine definitely came and went but my biggest fear is that its a precursor to another attack. I'm probably just being paranoid. I've been really feeling pretty good (knocking on wood here) at this level of meds and I just want to make sure it lasts.

Anyway, thanks for your answer. It really is nice to know that I'm not alone. This group really provides a lot of comfort and support.

Yes, I definitely had it, and the common name for it is "jumping eye" ......... I had it when I was going thru all of my Trigeminal Neuralgia stuff and I went to my eye doctor, who sent me to an eye specialist ....... there is nothing that anyone can actually do for it, but the nice thing is that it does go away on its own, and I had mine for about 2-3 months.

Thanks, Lynne. Not like it hurts or anything but it is just annoying and of course, you feel like the whole world can see it - like you're quasimodo or something. Nice to know it's not just me. While it's annoying, at least its not painful.

i cant believe you're mentioning my symptom!
I take 600 tegretol daily, and this right eye twitching.......I just dont know. Side effect, TN, or something else!!>>>

My eye twitches quite frequently. Most notably when I am under a lot of stress. I do not have TN, thank the Lord! I noticed my eye started to twitch from time to time since my mom was in a horrific car accident in 2004. You're right though, it is VERY annoying. Relaxation exercises help tremendously, as does a nice glass of Riesling. :) I prefer not to take medications.
