Yes that happens to me all the time. Cold/wind/etc are triggers for me, so in my experiences AC sucks. In the winter coming in to heat is good for me.

This happens to me in a hot shower, getting into a hot car or just going outside in the sun. I have come to realize the benefit of wearing a big floppy hat or ensuring I have an umbrella handy....except in the shower.

I was the exact same way with my TN pain before surgery. If I was outside in the heat the minute I came inside the house it was like bam, I think one of my first really bad attacks came from that. But in the winter time it didn't seem to bother me, strange isn't it.

I noticed it when I was on the beach in Plymouth. I don't go on the beach but I was at my friend's cottage on the porch watching the waves. It was Hazy Hot and Humid a big 90 degrees. I'm sure for the people down south.. that's nothing. but for up here that's hot! We don't have central air and most homes don't have a window unit just a fan.. Anyway.. I went into the grocery store.. and I thought I was going to hit the floor... My friend asked why it was so bad and I realized it had to be the AC in the store... oucheee

Oh yeah. The cold air can be a trigger! Nothing worse than getting in the car and being very hot but the cold air hitting your face causes pain. My husband keep yelling at me to stop pointing the vents down. He will get over it LOL. I wish I had some advise besides dont go out when it is really hot; but that is not realistic. I hope you get thru the summer without much pain from this. Good Luck. Let me know if you find any thing that works to make the transition easier.

I have the exact problem. It drives me crazy and hurts like hell. I have both TN and ON and almost nothing hurts worse. It started with the summer heat. What does your doctor say. I have had 3 sets of nerve blocks, gamma knife (with a problem) and they are wanting to do the nerve similator or MVD. Please write back. I am miserable and I hear the same in your reply.

I've had nerve blocks in the beginning the injection is scary but it worked great for me. I haven't had surgery yet. My Neurologist has prescribed me Tegretol, Baclofen and Amitryptiline at bed time the medication is still keeping the pain under control. I do get a strikes but not the constant pain I suffer from ATN. I don't know which way to go either.. There are so many decisions for each of us. My Neurologist suggest medication before surgery... So I'm staying put for now. Best Wishes.. Hugs...
