Trigeminal Neuralgia Support Group
Trigeminal neuralgia, or Tic Douloureux, is a neuropathic disorder of the trigeminal nerve that causes episodes of intense pain in the eyes, lips, nose, scalp, forehead, and jaw. Trigeminal neuralgia is considered by many to be among the most painful of conditions.
I have not had an attack for at least a year so decided to reduce the carbamazapine to 200mg a day. My doctor said if I have no symptoms for 3 months I can try going off meds altogether.
The only thing I have noticed is a slight numbness on the left side of the mouth and feeling as though I'm drooling though I'm not.
Has anyone experienced this?

I have numbess on the left side of my mouth in the cornor of my lips. Some times have an itchy feeling there too. Hope you can get off the meds.
