new symptom or co- incidence

I went off carbamazapine about 3 weeks ago as I was having no more symptoms of TN.
Yesterday I started having a shooting pain at the back of my head, on the same side where I had the TN and I'm wondering now if this could be related. The pain is intermittent and lasts only a few seconds but it is annyoying.
I had a twitching eye for 2 weeks after stopping the meds and now this.
Has anyone experinced this kind of shooting pain in the head?

I have had numerous types of pain in the head. None specifically that I recall. I do remember a period of several hours of the muscle below my right eye twitching a few years before I developed TN on that side, and then off-and on twitching of that eye until the TN started. We think mine was started from an accident.
I know that its is terribly annoying and worrying. Maybe it is not serious, and it will go away. I hope so. If it worries and bothers you alot, please ask a doctor to help you.

Thank you for your support, Dulcinea2. I'm so afraid that the TN is coming back, maybe in a different format. The pain is like an electrical shot, sometimes radiating down to the ear and I think I have a bit of numbness in the corner of my mouth.
I will try and wait it out to see if all this disappears. I do have a doctor's appointment in two days for other things so if it's no better I can ask about that too.
As I mentioned, I am full time caregiver to my husband so cannot afford to be unwell.

I went off carbamazepine gradually while trying other meds for TN. My pain was more on one side of my face,jaw, and chin. Don't know if it got worse because of withdrawal or just coincidence either. This was before my MVD surgery which solved the pain problems. You answered the question I was going to ask when you said you have an appt in two days. Was gonna say you should call your doctor. Hope you get some relief soon.

i have this pain drs think it could be some occipital neuralgia. all these nerve pains are getting on my last nerve. my meds seem to keep this under control but make sure you let your dr know where this pain is at.

I hate to say it but it sounds like it could be, since it is electrical and goes from ear to corner of your mouth involving numbness. . Did you gradually go off your carbamazapine or just stop? That may be something to consider. I hope you get the answers you are looking for at the doctor. Good luck.
