Your itchy condition sounds like your having a mild allergic reaction to this medication. I have experienced similar conditions but red bumps appeared on my thighs so I went to the ER. They gave me Claritin I believe but I am not sure.
You can try taking an antihistamine to lesson it's reaction.

@BostonTN ~ I get really itchy in the evenings on my left forearm ~ it looks almost like a rash but not really just bumps and redness from scratching. This is going to sound really crazy but when I get like that my husband rubs "Desitin" (yeah baby butt oitment) on it and the itchiness is literally gone within seconds. One less pill to take and it really helps =)

A few of us have this problem so I am following this topic.
That "Baby Butt Onment" not only sounds funny but I can see it working due to it's chemical make up of it. Love that name.... "Baby Butt Onment" . If only everything could have such an easy answer.

Just a note:
I take a table spoon of very warm honey and cinnimon twice to three times per day when I feel a cold or some other sickness coming on. (Heat the bottle of honey in a pan of water to get it very hot but becareful not to melt the plastic of the bottle!) Honey kills everything which the drug companies do not want you to know. This takes longer to work than antibiotics but taking antibiotics is like using a sludge hammer to pound nails. Besides, you might just need the antibiotics for something serious some day.
I can't afford to get sick cause of these Tysabri infusions I take monthly. It lowers my white blood cell count.

I heard this before... Someone told me if you travel to another state to get the local honey and drink it with your tea.. The local honey will have all of the plants and flowers from that area to reduce your allergies to that area.... Makes sense to me....

My husband told me that if the "baby butt oitment" was safe to put on a baby's butt for rashes then why wouldn't it be ok to put on an adult's rash?? Made sense to me so I had him put some on and he kept asking well??? I did not want to admit that he was right and the itchiness was gone.

I have also used Spray Benedryl but it gets expensive and it comes in a small bottle and with the cost of all the medications I would rather save a few bucks on "baby butt oitment" that last alot longer. Being that I don't go out often it doesn't matter that I have white patches on my arm in the evenings...;)

Have you told your Dr. about this? I had a reaction to Tegretol after taking it about a month. I starting itching on my arms and legs. No amount of scratching or over the counter remedy helped. Then a couple of days later became severely dizzy and unbalanced. The DR. immediately took me off of Tegretol and precribed Prednisone to counter the allergiac reactions.
