Trigeminal neuralgia, or Tic Douloureux, is a neuropathic disorder of the trigeminal nerve that causes episodes of intense pain in the eyes, lips, nose, scalp, forehead, and jaw. Trigeminal neuralgia is considered by many to be among the most painful of conditions.

I'm new to this group and your post caught my attention. You sound very frustrated in your posts and I can sure relate. I've not tried acupuncture. I've not studied the benefits of it with TN and atypical facial pain.

This is BelleTower, new member. I am tn sufferer diagnosed 13 years ago but recent flare up began three weeks ago. I am sad and bored and lonely at home sucking down ice water to keep the intense pain somewhat at bay.

Wow! I was starting to think I was all alone on this site, thank you KAN3, BelleTower and BlackgirlTN for replying! I really, really needed this. It's hard dealing with TN and knowing that this is what I have to look forward to for the rest of my life being that there is no cure. My family tries to be understanding. My daughter even did an essay on TN in her biology class. I love that my family tries to understand what I'm going through everyday but I still feel alone. So it's nice to talk with people who actually know what it's like to live with TN. I tried acupuncture........didn't work!
