I definitely think that is one of possible several reasons. Everyone's body reacts differently to stress and discomfort and I think people with trichotillomania may respond to these things by pulling out their hair. The pulling of the hair sends a message to the brain that this is relieving stress and this may be why it is so difficult to stop doing it. I am just speculating though! Congrats though on making it 4-5 days without pulling!:o)
