Hey everyone,
Welcome to my rant about summer!
I've been pulling for 8 or so years, peaking and dropping every couple months.
Well for the past 2 months i've been pulling really bad from the top of my head. So now, just in time for summer, i cant keep my hair down, i cant get a hair cut and if i go swimming its all i think about. yay, right..
All i want is a hair cut, and i cant get one because the top of my head is so bad, so even if the hairdresser 'attempted; any kind of style i wouldnt be able to wear my hair down anyways. how sad is this, everyone else totally takes getting something small like a haircut for granted, and here i am crying cause i cant get one? common!
My birthday is coming up in early July, so i have made that my non pulling goal. July 16th will be my 30 days pull free date and i'm going to try really hard to succeed.
Theres nothing worse then school starting in september, and you cant wear your hair the way you like..
Im tired of googling how fast does hair grow, and hoping it magically changed to 6 inches a MONTH.
its been really hard for me to just get one full day pull free, but once i got one day under my belt, the second came easier and so on. If any of you are having similar troubles or feel the same way about summer in our ulternate universe, feel free to rant to me!
Cheers, and may we go swimming and worry about sharks instead of our hair!

Hello- I am new to the group
-
My therapist really knocked some sense into me last Friday about my spending. She said that there are needs and there are wants. She said that there is always going to be cheap stuff to buy, but do I need it? The answer is mostly "no". So today, I am taking back some things that I bought online at Kohl's, namely a 9 x 12 rug and a quilt for my bed. I also bought sheets that I don't need...
Yes, it's hard to have to think about not having hair when it seems like everyone else's concerns are more simple, but I assure you -- everyone has something. Whether it's weight or acne, shyness or a difficult family life, everyone faces some kind of struggle. Fortunately trich isn't that bad of a problem...painful as it can be to watch yourself turn into a baldy, it is only hair after all.
Please know that we are all here for you to offer understanding and sympathy and encouragement. You can still have a good life and plenty of fun, it's just a little tougher. Best of luck to you!
Yeah, too bad hair doesn't grow faster! Don't get discouraged!
And I also agree with mideyebrow...got for it!!
Haven't actually swam in it yet, but I think it's a great solution! You can always just say that you don't want the sun to bleach your hair color or something like that, if you don't want people to know that you're trying to hide your hair. Big, floppy straw hats look awesome on the beach, too. I know it's hard, but try to enjoy summer! :)
And yes, I've been frequently Googling how fast hair grows (still half an inch a month? damn!), and "how to make hair grow faster," even though I know the answer is still "you can't." GAH... I hate waiting for hair to grow. It's one of the worst parts of trich-- having worked your butt off to stay pull-free for so long, and still not having it show up on your head yet. But stay strong, and try to have patience. It'll happen!
thanks for the swimcap ideas guys, but i think that would just draw more attention to my head, and people would ask why i was wearing it...and it would just make me feel silly and more self conscious in the long run.
I am happy to say i still have not pulled since my first post. i think i am 7 or 8 days into my journey and going strong.
i guess im in one of my 'non urgent' phases, and i havent had anything that has hugely triggered it, also i have been active, so maybe the endorphins are giving me a happy effect which is helping.
either way, i am proud.
How has everyone else been?

And congrats on your week or so pull-free! It's a great milestone. I definitely agree that staying active and exercising helps with the urges, and it's really good for you anyway. You're doing great-- keep it up!
