I have this friend (call her R), and I don't really want to be friends w/ her anymore. She's nuttin' like me. We've only been friends 4 about a year, and she's reaaaaaaaaaally lazy. I like to be active and dance and stuff, and she'd rather sit around and read a book all day. She doesn't like to do fun stuff (go to school dances, take walks, etc.) I do. I can't stand it. The last time I told her I didn't want to be friends (and i was nice about it), she cursed me off. I have 5 out of 7 classes (including lunch) w/ her. What should I do. Tell her again or just suffer???

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Also, some of my best friends have completely different interests, we like different music, we like doing different things, everything! But that doesn't matter because they're beautiful people (I mean on the inside, though they are beautiful on the outside too!) and that's what makes a good friend.
Sorry, not trying to be mean huni, just stating my opinion. But at the end of the day what you do is your decision x
Instead of "not being friends", when she chooses reading a book over walking, dances, or other fun stuff, accept her choice and go have fun!
Avoid making negative references as you are in classes together, and just appreciate the things that brought you both together as friends.
It does make the school day much easier to have people who are friends in your classes. Be nice.
I read a lot of books, I dance, I walk, and I have friends I only get together with when there are books involved and we are sitting. We enjoy this time together and respect our friendship as it is.
I understand your reluctance to want to be friends with someone who does not share your main interests, however, you are in school together and this is one area you share, so smile, relax, and enjoy the friendship as it is.
The cursing is not acceptable. I understand that she may have learned the hard way that friends will drop her just because she chooses to read for pleasure over socializing in public.
Hope this helps.
Learning how to be positive with people of different interests will be a huge benefit for your future, especially in the workplace.
I still remember how hurt I was that a group of people no longer wanted to be my friend.
