You would think I would be ecstatic right now since after a year and a half of trying, I am finally pregnant with my first. Unfortunately, that has been eclipsed by the massive crash I've had in the last few weeks regarding my trich. I went for about 4 months PF and had almost full sets of eyelashes and eyebrows. Now I have next to nothing. I'm feeling pretty hopeless about getting back to being PF and could really use some positive vibes sent my way. Any kind words or encouragement would be really appreciated. Thanks :)

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...

The second thing is that you are not alone with this, and you can grow the eyelashes, eyebrows and have them soon.
Practice every single barrier technique, relaxation technique, and stay in touch on here for support through this challenging time.
You will find whatever brought on this urge and beat it back!
You can do this!
We are here, supporting you every single hair!
Secondly, it is amazing that you were 4 months PF. Do not forget this, it is a great accomplishment!! Setbacks will happen (and they suck) but the important thing is that you stop the pulling and get back up on that PF horse! You can do it, you've proven that already!
Expecting a child brings a ton of crazy emotions. Hormones are raging, you may not feel well, you may be worried about money, you may be concerned about your ability to be a mom. Totally normal feelings, but possibly any of these has affected your trich. Unfortunately we have to battle it at some level for the rest of our lives, but remember you are NOT ALONE!! We are here for you and welcome your thoughts, vents, and advice.
Now go look in the mirror and tell yourself that you WILL do this, then go get a barrier to make your hands obey (gloves, vaseline or cold cream on eyes/brows, knitting to keep hands busy, bracelet or scarf to play with). Feel wonderful about yourself!!
I'm a HUGE HP fan!! Why didn't I think of that myself?? RIP Mad-Eye Moody :) That's a great way to think and it's very true for people with trich. We all need to practice constant, never-ceasing, vigilance!!
Pregnancy does cause hormonal changes which could affect the trich but I promise it will get better. You were PF for 4 months so you can do it again. Just take it one day at a time. You can be PF again just post here if you are having a bad day. we are all here for ya. Focus on the pregnancy. don't let the trich get in the way of you enjoying your pregnancy. keep a pregnancy journal so that when your child is grown they know how you felt during pregnancy. the journal might focus your mind more on the baby and less on pulling which may help.
If you are like me though i pull when i am trying to think of something to write down so the journal might be best when you know exactly what to write.
