NE1 try Vitamins and Minerals?

I used to chew my hair, nails, eyebrows, etc., and find that taking a vitamin with minerals I don't have the urge.

When I go 3-4 days without taking them I get an overwhelming urge and can rip off and chew all my nails.

Just thought I would put it out there in case anyone has heard of this.

What kind of vitamins do you take? I've been taking prenatal vitamins for over a year now (i was pregnant and now im breastfeeding) but they haven't had any effect on my urge to pull.

I take ones that have BOTH vitamins and minerals. I don't know if prenatals are only vitamins or have trace minerals like Calcium, magnesium, zinc, etc. Look on the back label.

People in the vitamin stores call it PICA like the bird that eats lead paint...supposedly we chew our nails and hair because we are lacking minerals. Minerals used to be abundant in our water but is now cleaned out.
