Hey guys,
so I have been taking N-Acetylcystein since I read the studies that showed it reduced hair pulling, but to be honest I have been TERRIBLE about taking it everyday.
But I decided today NO MORE EXCUSES, I need to be better about doing things that might help my pulling.
But anyway, I was re-reading the study that was published on it. And I realized that in the study they were giving the participants 1200-2400 mg of NAC, but the bottles they sell in the vitamin store are for 600 mg and they say to only take 1 capsule daily, so that was all I was taking.
I am going to ask a doctor to make sure its okay to take more, but I was wondering if any body else had success with NAC and what dosage they were taking?
I also wanted to post this in case anybody tried NAC and it didn't work for them so perhaps they might consider taking a higher dosage. I mean, if the clinical trial was giving 1200-2400 mg, maybe taking 600 just isn't as effective.
Here is a link to the study's abstract for those who are interested:

My psychiatrist suggested that I start taking this! I have yet to go out and buy it, however. I think it also treats anxiety, which is why she mentioned it to me. It's cool to hear that others are taking it. :)

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
