I've had tric for around 10 years, and I'm so tired of it. I was finally in recovery, with almost a full head of hair grown back. Within a month, I slipped up, and now I'm right back to where I was again. With a new school year coming up, I'm so nervous. I don't want to go in public, and I can hardly look at myself without feeling disappointed. I'm just so tired of it. I don't know what to do. I'm tired of looking around and seeing rooms full of people with hair; it seems like I'm the only person out there who has it sometimes. Even in movies and TV shows, I never see it. I just want to feel normal. I don't want to live like this anymore. Therapy and years of practice are starting to pay off, but I just want it to be over with. I'm so tired of waiting for it to grow back in and having to hide it from family and friends. I don't feel comfortable in my own skin. I feel like everyone else around me seems so free and confident. I'm jealous of literally everyone. Everyday, I see my friends walking around, just being themselves and living their lives without anything to hide. But I always have something to hide. I can't even feel comfortable in my own dorm room for fear of one of my friends coming in when I don't have a hat or something covering my spots. I want to experience my life without the constant stress of this secret. I just want to be happy again. I hope someone out there can relate.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...

This particular board is not very active.
I recommend going onto the general anxiety board and checking out ways to naturally reduce the anxiety associated with the trich behavior, actions, and moving forward with that approach.
Until you figure out what is happening BEFORE you reach the trich, you'll often realize the pattern is something other than what you are already aware of.
You are not alone in this.
