I have recently emailed a hypnotherapist in my area about seeking treatment for my trichotillomania...he seems VERY confident that he can help rid me of my urge to pull, apparently he has treated multiple people with trich...right now im trying to figure out the cost and what not since I am still dependent on my parents and they dont know about my trich, so i need to find a way to get the money without them finding out...but i am VERY excited because i tried cognitive behavioral therapy and it not only didnt work but i thought it was just silly.... im not gonna get my hopes up, but this seems very promising...

anyone here used hypnotherapy before?

I don't know anything about hypnotherapy. But I have tried CBT classes also and they have not worked for me either. Tho, all the ther./psych. swear by them around here ( in NC ) . It made me feel like they should work
for me-but I really gave it 110% and to no avail! My sister tried hypno. for smoking and it worked tho.!

i went through the cognitive behavioral therapy too. didn't work for me either. i was going to do hypnotherapy, since my psychologist suggested to me and my parents. it just wasn't in our budget . it sounds like it would work when my psychologist was explaining it. wish i could of done it just to try.

Hypnosis WORKS! Its not a cure b/c unfortunatly nothing is for trich. But it helps dramatically to stop urges. You do still have to work at making sure you do not pull. I have had great sucess from hypnosis although i have noticed that for me i need to go back and do another hynosis treatment every few months. Literally after a session my hands do not even go to my head at all- its amazing. I suggest everyone try it.

Also it can get pricey depending on where you live. I have paid everywhere from $89 per session to $400.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
