eyebrow help!!!

I am going to be studying at the University of Hawaii this summer...with all the amazing activities I may be able to get into, specifically related to WATER, i'm freaking out because i have basically no eyebrows....

i have been trying SO hard to grow them back in time before summer school which starts May 24, but its not looking promising as the other day i destroyed all my progress....now i have no eyebrows again

does anyone know of anything i can use to paint my eyebrows that is ACTUALLY waterproof and smudgeproof? like, i could go swimming and not worry about them wiping off???? i hate that i will be in Hawaii for 3 months and won't be able to enjoy going swimming in the ocean :(:(:(:(:(

i found temporary eyebrow tattoos but they don't work on me since i do have a TINY bit of hair, since I am trying to grow them, and also i don't pull the outside of my eyebrows...(i pull up to the arch, and then no further for some reason)...so i really need to draw them on but EVERYTHING i have tried does not last even in the shower so it definitely won't last swimming in the ocean!

i am so sad now cuz i feel like i'm missing out on great opportunities because of my damn trichotillomania!!!! ARRRRRR

I have something that works as long as you have a little bit of hair... I always use an ebony pencil. (Clearly, this will be more complicated if you're blonde.) It's not quite a charcoal pencil, but it fills in the spaces pretty nicely if you put it on when your brows are dry. Mine always stays on as long as I don't rub my brows with a towel and make sure to pat it dry... it's harder to get it to stay on if there's no hair, though, so I think it might only work if you just need them to look thicker. Hope that helps! (You can buy them in art stores and most hobby stores or Wal-Marts with an 'art' section.) If that doesn't work, I sometimes just wear my sunglasses in the water and use the excuse that I can't stand getting saltwater in my eyes. It's not as fun, and I wouldn't recommend it if you have nice glasses, but people generally don't ask about it. :)

I did the tattooing. Mine has lasted a couple years, though it needs to be redone now. I had a little bit of hair. I like it. I can get out of the shower, go swimming, all the things other people take for granted. It really doesn't hurt. They put a cream on that numbs it. I'm TERRIFIED of needles and I fell asleep during the procedure. Check into it more. If you do decide to do it, do it quick because you need a week to 3 to completely heel. It costs about $300-$600... depending on the style you get.

A woman with our condition created her own makeup line. It's high quality products at a reasonable cost. I am not here to promote anyone but she is a wonderful person, I met her on a Trich retreat, and she has real waterproof makeup (eyebrows & liner) that works!! http://www.cheryn.com/ check out her products and see if you can't find what you need there. One more comment. Go and enjoy yourself no matter what!!! Lots of people have our issue and it's not that big of a deal. I go swimming all the time never having the waterproof makeup before. I have absolutely no eyebrows or eyelashes. Hold your head up high, accept yourself, and you'll be surprised how many will just accept you for you.

I have the same problem with swimming and my eyebrow except for me it's that i'm turning down my lifeguarding jobs since I don't want to go into the water anymore.. =( =(
I don't quite know what to do either, quitting my summer job abnd finding another seems the simplest solution for me. But good luck, enjoy hawaii and don't let trich set you bak!

The same thing just happened to me, except I have the swimming unit in PE in school. With other mean teenage girl and guys. Fun, huh? The way I dealt: I just found a good (waxy, if not waterproof) eyebrow pencil and filled them in. You can find them in any drugstore. You would be surprised how well it stays on. Just remember to keep them lighter in the front and darker in the back. You can watch makeup tutorials on youtube, the explain it much better And, another point to remember, is that a lot of women actually shave their eyebrows off and fill them in...as like a fashion statement or whatever. If you buy a high end eyebrow pencil, such as one by MAC, I find they are pretty waterproof unless you touch or smudge them. Theyre expensive, I think around $15 per pencil, but they last a long time and are worth it. Also try setting your eyebrows with a little bit of hairspray, this will really make them water proof.
