Has anyone ever tried acupuncture to help with trich?
or anything else?
I find it hard to believe non-traditional medicine, but I have heard a lot of people having success with acupuncture and that it is one of the "more reputable" of the alternative medicines.
I was just wondering if anyone has had any success with minimizing (or perhaps even ELIMINATING!) hair pulling by using acupuncture?

I haven't yet but I am starting acupuncture next week. Mostly for my stress levels and ADD. I am hoping to restore some balance to my brain and body and in turn I think that will benefit my trich battle. the acupuncturist has never treated trich before but she has successfully treated bipolar and many other mental issues so it can only help...

Fascinating. I'll bet accupuncture would be a great natural remedy to try. If you're going for it, please report back and let us know how it works.

Virginia, please let us know how that goes! :)

I had my first session last Thursday. She said it was going to move some stuff around-emotionally and physically. About 6 hours later I got super sick, I've been in the bed for 4 days with horrible cramps and extreme lethargy. She said the needle she put in my hand evidently released some buried pathogen-or maybe it was just a very strange coincidence because I never get sick. I feel alot better today and have another appointment for Wednesday. So we will see !

Well I went to my second acupuncture treatment a few days ago. I don't want to jump to conclusions yet but I have had my first 100% completely pull free day in over 30 years. Yesterday my hand did not even go up to my head. At the end of the day I went to write in my symptoms/food journal and realized I didn't pull AT ALL ! Wow. I hope this is a piece of the puzzle. I also haven't been eating any gluten, sugar or processed foods for about 3 weeks. Bread and crackers don't even look good anymore. My head is clear for once.I have another appointment tomorrow. Feeling VERY optimistic !

wow! reading your post definitely gave me some hope. I made an appointment with an accupuncturist on thursday, however I realized I already had an appointment for something else at the exact same time so I'm going to have to reschedule tomorrow. Hopefully they will be able to get me in later in the day. I really really really hope it works because I feel like nothing else does!!
