Hi all - I'm seeing that this group is not particularly active, but I wanted to post anyways for anyone who might still be checking, or for people who would like to get it a bit more active!
I've been a hair puller since I was about 10 years old, so more than 22 years now. I've gone through so many ups and downs with it - at one point I stopped for about a year, and my hair grew back fully, and at other points I've been able to lessen it. At the moment, I feel like I'm at an all-time low with hairpulling - my hair is so thin that I can't wear it down, so I'm always putting it up in messy buns to cover the bald patches and try to disguise how thin it is. It has been a huge hit on my confidence and ability to connect with people for most of my life - the shame cycles are real! The past two years have been such intense ones for all of us, with the pandemic and social distancing, and as things begin to normalize a bit I'm feeling motivated and hopeful that I'll be able to tackle trich and get it under control. However, I've also been burned (by myself) so many times before, that it's hard to believe that "this time will be different" - I've said that so, so many times. Any advice on how you keep yourself focused and motivated in this ongoing process is very welcome! For anyone reading this dealing with trich, you're not alone and I really do believe that these struggles make us all the more beautifully complex individuals xoxo

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...

Having had success, you know it's possible to reach the goal, learning how to maintain it is harder.
You're not alone in this!
