I was just wondering if anyone has ever tried hypnotherapy for trich. Its somthing ive been thinking about. I was just wondering if anyone could give me any advice on that or if it would even help. Share any expereinces with hypnotherapy., and how or where i would go about doing that. I mean what else is there left to try. i want to at least give it a try before resorting to shaving my head and getting a wig. meds and regular thereapy, cbt dont really help.

I have never tried it, but I am thinking of it too. I figure anything is worth it. I ahve read that for some people it has a 70% success rate. I am trying medication now, but may do this too. Nothing has worked for me :-(

I personally have never tried it but I've read posts from others who have. Most say it worked for a brief spell, maybe days or at most a few weeks but eventually came back.

So I had a meeting with my therapists today and asked their opinions on Hypnotherapy for Trich. They pretty much said the same thing as you, cake12310. Its relaxation, and for some people it may work, and for some, not. It's all about determination, and all it takes is willpower. I mean its like kickin a habit, an addiction. Cause thats what it is really. It comforts us and were addicted to pulling out our hair because it makes us, or me anyways feel good.. For some strange reason.. I don't know. But i do know that I'm decided to go down all avenues.. Because I AM determined.. to kick this habit. I just cleaned up the sheet of black hair that covers my carpet.. Its impossible to vacuum.. without breaking it.. Thats what gives me determination.. seeing what i've done to myself.. when i look in the mirror and look at my carpets.. I hate to say this but it looks like i shed more than my 2 cats..!!! Now i just have to find i guess a hypnotherapist.. Don't really know how about doing that.. Like a legit one.. any suggestions...? =]
