Hi, I have been struggling with hair-pulling since I was 7, I'm 24 now. Never been to therapy for many reasons (Family not aware of what's the issue & financial issues). I have tried to stop many times, didn't get me anywhere. I am trying to find the most realistic way for me to stop or at least be more cautious when I pull. One thing came to mind is to use my left hand (the hand I usually feel the urge to pull with). Did anybody try this method before? I am sure it will be slow since I am right-handed, but this is the only thing I can come up with.
