Today I found out that my biological father had a cardiac arrest that resulted in him being brain dead. Although my daddy and I had our history that isn't very good due to his drug use and past abuse of my mother and myself. I finally let go of the hurt, pain and anger towards him and came to a point in my life where I forgave him and went to NY to see him on his death bed. Being from a multicultural, judgmental family that I chose to love from a distance due to me choosing my happiness and will to live regarding my transition; they don't agree or understand the path I felt I needed to be me. Now that my father literally has a few hours to live before the plug is pulled, one would figure they would have the common decency to tell his ONLY LEGAL child what's going on. NO!! NOT MY FAMILY!!! Yet they get mad when I tell them when I find out what's going on that when my daddy dies they can go also for all I care. Harsh? YES, but I feel like they literally stole what could've been one of the few good moments in my life I would've had with my daddy, yet they chose to treat me as if I never existed all because I'm transgendered.
I don't judge them regardless of any of their choices in their lives so why can't they treat me the same? I know I'm wrong for showing them my anger and telling them F*** Y** knowing they would've wanted to be treated differently if the shoe was on the other foot and it was their parent dying. Silver lining being that I'm glad my father is going to finally be at peace, in no more pain and he passed on good terms regarding our relationship.
Basically I'm asking for advice and IF I should apologize for my actions towards people who obviously have no regard for me?

And people wonder why divorce rates and children on drugs rates are so high. Cause we don't even know what were doing in this country. We need to start loving our kids and accepting them for who they are, instead of trying to shape them into somebody that you could worship. Too many parents feel awful about the horribly childhood they had and all the things they didn't get to do in life, that they push their kids in ways that they shouldn't.
When will the insanity end?
I know once my mother passes - which she shows no sign of doing - I will not have anything to do with the rest of my family. Too many things have been said and done, on all accounts, for me to choose to maintain relationships with those who have no interest in claiming relationship to me. I know it sounds bad, but I also know it's for the best, all around.
Just let go of the anger and pain, and walk away from them.
