Transgender Support Group
This community is here to support and help the large population of transgender people. If you or anyone you know identify as transgender, this is the place to share your feelings and experiences and speak with others who are going through similar things in their lives.
After the conversation I had with my mother that ended much more better than I could ever hope to there is nothing holding me back now than to complete what I want. I've done plenty of research before hand and there is a center relatively close to me that I can use.
In my search for me resources I am disappointed in how much deviance I have found. I can see why there is such a stigma attached to this with how some people act so very foolish. While they claim to be wanting to raise awareness or finally be free it is so very damaging to the community as a whole that wants complete and total acceptance. Can do that with others banging pots and pans loudly while shouting.
Other resources are just misleading or damaging. I can be a trusting person but I am not that naive.
So in short what other resources have been utilized in our mutual quests for balance in mind and body?

My resources have mostly come from my therapist and searching through the internet. Most of the sites on the 'net are junk, but there are a few sites that can be useful, depending on exactly what you're looking for.
At this point, I have been looking at sites that rate surgeons who specialize in transgender procedures, as rated by their patients; and sites that list the known transgender-focused surgeons by procedure, costs, and location. I have also been reading up on the various procedures I might require, to educate myself. Here again, it pays to be careful - take note of when the site was last updated, and who performs the updates,... Costs have been dropping for some procedures, but for me, they are still out of reach unless a minor miracle happens.
Some good surgeons don't advertise they do transgender procedures; some surgeons who do advertise it are not that good; so be sure you investigate thoroughly, and when possible, find out the surgeon's actual opinion/attitude about transgender folk - it will tell you a lot about how you are likely to be treated by the surgeon and those within the office, and the post-op care facility.
