So I can only assume that you are talking about the Memo from HHS stating that they want to define Sex by genetic definition. If that is what you are meaning, the specific memo is attempting to fix the ignorance between what sex and gender is. Sex is defined as the presence of one set of primary sex characteristics or another and is defined by genes. That is true, Gender is the representation of the sense of self in ones own perceptions of being. The problem is that in our current society Sex and Gender are currently used as synonyms for one another and they are not. Now while I don't dispute that such a definition would damage changing documentation and such, it really wouldn't put us in any worse of a situation than we were in 3 years ago. A lot of states you still cant change your markers, some you cant change them at all even after surgery. others you can change them with just a letter, it will still be up to the states to decide how they want to mandate that. What it will do is effect the safety of employment and such because you will have to hand in certain documents that will still say the birth gender.

All that said, next month is your chance to stop it, VOTE, get the senate and congress turned over. Get rid of all the representatives that have not done what you believe is right. You have a chance to do something now, so make use of it. If you don't you will have to wait another 2 years and suffer whatever damage comes with said 2 years.

Ive been doing transition for 10 years, I have had to pay out of pocket for it till the last 2 years, If the memo was enacted today, it would likely cause me to lose my surgery that I have been waiting for the last 2 years in line to get, but I will just be back to where I was. Our status will always be threatened because of the politicians we elect as a country. We will get kicked today and tomorrow boosted back up, then kicked again as long as we choose to not vote or choose to vote only along party lines.
