My mom accidentally did that the other week.
I'm wondering just how dangerous it is. I mean, clearly I'm okay. Not dead or anything. I was pretty shaken up, though, so I went online to scour internet threads for information on what happens. It was clear that something was wrong as soon as that plunger was pressed. Instant nausea, vertigo, sweating, difficulty breathing, the kind of coughing that's borderline dry-heaving. I thought that I was having a panic attack because of the needle, which would be incredibly strange, considering I haven't been fazed by a needle for nearly a year now.
The symptoms matched up pretty well when I checked it out online. One guy said, "It probably won't kill you, but you'll definitely feel like you're going to die for a few minutes." Yeah, pretty much.
The 'probably' was concerning, though.
So, has this happened to anyone else? Does anybody know what's so bad about it, or how harmful it really can be?

I don't know why it's dangerous to inject testosterone directly into a vein, but I've got a couple guesses. 1 - a flood of chemicals into our blood stream has got to be hell on our livers and other important organs. 2 - I don't know if you got the nausea when you started T, but I know I did. I imagine that much hormone that quickly made your body go into overdrive. Hormones are triggers and messengers for our cells/tissues after all.
First of all, T should be injected ONLY intramuscularly, that is on the butt, it should not be under ANY circumstances be administer nowhere near a vein or artery.
If your mom does not know how to inject T properly, she should go to the nearest drs. office and ask them to show her how. But most important, you should be doing this yourself.
You are darn lucky, there was no air bubble in the syringe, she could have killed you. The surge of T on the heart as it reached it was what caused the sensations, you should have also gone to the emergency room to see if your heart was okay after the fact, why you failed to go puzzles me to no end. You should still go to the drs because you do not know exactly what it did to your overall system.
In short, get yourselves properly educated on where to inject so that never happens again. Why is the butt so much better than any other site for intramuscular injections, because it is the safest area that has no veins accessible by a syringe. Also when injecting, you should grab the skin and make a fold and inject between the folds, to ensure maximum efficiency.

wolfiepa -- Well, my mom used to have to give herself intramuscular hormone injections as well, and she's been doing it for me for a year now, by the end of this month. Never had a problem before this. The whole situation was only a fluke. The reason I didn't medically act on it is due in part to the many different accounts that I read online, all saying that it turns out fine and only taught them to be incredibly careful thereafter. And, besides, these were men taking a greater dose of testosterone. I'm not on the full 200 mL, though I suppose that's a bit irrelevant. It's all the same.
