Support comes in a great many forms, you don't have to have like a support group or anything like that, you just need someone or a few someone's you can talk to when things get hard. That can come in the nature of a support group as they have been through similar issues, it could be a family member, it could be a small group of friends, online or off, it could be a beloved dog or cat or the people here. You just need someone to help you get through the rough spots because there are rough spots. I think that is why they say that. Just someone who can say, its going to be okay and offer a hand to help you pick yourself up.

Well you made a start here. Again can be anyone, even those who happen to read the thread. I think in the end it is how we all came to be here anyways. We all needed someone to ask questions of, to listen when we needed it, so on.

some times things happen, this is life, a lot of times its very good to have someone else that understands and can say the right things that can help you. i know its very hard to admit that we are not what we appear to be. but it's not also easy for those who knew you the way you were so long to except you as you are. so keep this in mind and have compassion for others if they dont except you as you are now. you need to show them your who you are now, but dont judge them if they dont agree. after all its their right to. so when my brother disagreed i didnt judge him , i instead showed him who i was, and that the change didn't make me worse but improved me instead, he later admitted that it did make me better and he excepted me. as far as support is concerned , make sure you choose it wisely, not all support is actually support, some will be no help at all and may harm you. just follow your heart you conscience knows.

Up until two days ago I had no support till after almost 30 years of knowing I was truly a woman did I confide in a friend. I was able to tell her all about how hard it has been having to live as a man but being a woman inside. I cannot come out of the closet per say about this to anyone else in my area... Too conservative...too redneck... I'm 36 ""father"" to 3 great daughters and married to a woman that I can't even tell.. I'm not sure of my next steps if there are any but I'll gladly be supportive anytime you might need just like many others on here.. We are never truly alone in this.... We just feel alone.

you are doing the right thing for you. i seen to often how coming out to a hetro female can do, im here also you as well if you need support, us male born females need to help each other, take care of your self , your time will come someday
