Transgender Support Group
This community is here to support and help the large population of transgender people. If you or anyone you know identify as transgender, this is the place to share your feelings and experiences and speak with others who are going through similar things in their lives.
I came out to my mother a few years ago, after finally figuring out who I am and who I want to be. I am a transgender man who a few months ago turned 18, yet as of the moment I am not stable enough to attempt living on my own. My mother at first was very angry and confused, but after over a year of fighting she decided she would support me, but she made it clear she did not accept me. It... hurt, a lot, and I started getting defensive and snappish. Just recently things started to get better between us and I thought that things would finally go in my favor for once. Then... Today she revealed that she doesn't even believe that transgender even exists, and that she will never accept me, even said she wasn't going to support me anymore. It was during that long and painful conversation that I realized and accepted the fact that my mother and father (who was there and supporting my mother's arguements) are emotionally and mentally abusive, and that they will never stop. Now, I am supposed to be living with her for seven more years after graduation, and I currently have no means of leaving as I do not have a job or my permanent driver's licence yet, I do have my temporary licence but that won't get me far. I want to leave and save my eleven year old sister from dealing with their abuse any further, I want to leave and live as who I am so I don't feel like I want to die every day because of my mother's blatant denial of me being a man. How do I get through this? I just don't know what to do, and I'm so lost because of all this.
