So I’ve been having a lil bit of problem and I decided to try to ask for help here becuz I really don’t know where else to. And I feel a sense of community here as well so I feel comfortable talking about this here. 

A few years ago I met a man at my ice rink who’s skates professionally. He now teaches and skates at my rink. When I first met him I started to get uncomfortable. Within days of meeting he was attaching words like ‘beautiful’ to me and paying extra attention to me. This continued and my parents got to know him as well as everyone else in my club. 

He became very popular. My parents especially my mother really respect him. And a lot of teenagers around me were salivating over him. I wish I was kidding. 

Over time he’s been staring at me a lot and skating a little too close to me. And I know he’s a coach but it’s those times when he’s teaching a group and I often find his eyes on me. Sometimes he’ll be conversing with my parents and he’ll be looking at me. 

I kind of forgot about him becuz he went on paternity leave (which I should mention he has a wife & now a daughter) for a while. But now he’s back and he’s still staring at me too much for my own comfort. 

He hasn’t touched me or done anything lewd but I still can’t be at ease whenever we’re in the same room or on the same ice. The fact that he’s a much older, cisgender, white man is also imposing for me should I say. And he’s a well respected professional athlete at that. 

I found his wiki page and I saw no criminal record or sex offender history which kind of put me at ease. Kind of meaning I was still worried. 

But today, I’ve had it. I was practicing today and I had the ice to myself. That is until I see him walk in and I’m like ‘Sh!t.’ I was worried he might get on the ice with me alone. But I think what actually happened may have been just as bad. He brings his stroller with his baby in it into the ice rink and sits in the hockey box! 

That means he’s literally on the perimeter of the rink. And he just sits there. There’s no one else on the ice. Just me, and he’s doing nothing but watching me. He brought his baby out in the cold ice rink when he didn’t have to. He had no lessons, no students, he was in his damn street shoes, there was no reason for him to be there with me. 

That pushed me a lil too far, it weirded me out and I worry that he might take advantage of me. 

Basically it’s come to a when not if. So I’m bringing a rape whistle to my ice rink. I don’t know what else to do and I’m too scared to tell the staff or other coaches. If anyone has suggestions please let me know.
