Hi GWNN, I'm Jeannot. My birth name begins with J and it just so happens that my brother is called Jean-Phillipe. So there's a little clash with us both being a Jean but he goes by Phil. I searched for names similar to mine on behindthename.com cus you can filter in lots of ways and it's a lot easier to navigate than other sites I've found. Plus it's not baby orientated so I don't feel penalised for using it. I wanted a french name to match my heritage, so I just looked through all the french names over and over. Reading them and seeing how they sounded and whether I would like somebody calling me that or whether it stuck out as a "nope"
I didn't have anybody to help me pick my name cus nobody is overly involved with it, we live in a conservative area with no readily available resources and no education regarding it unless you go looking for it on the internet so when I finally figured out a name i liked everybody was like "yeah that fits"
I really like my new name and have even nearly got my whole name sorted. I have two middle names and I wanted to keep that. Plus I wanted a certain number of letters in my whole name. I'm very finicky so I'd make lists of what they all mean and write it out with my last name over and over to read.

That’s an abbreviation for girl with no name. I appreciate that suggestion though. The Gwynn does not speak to me. I am starting to really think I have found myself with Gabrielle though. I just changed my first name in my DS profile to Gabrielle. I believe I have found me. Still seeking the right middle name. Can't change my username though. That kind of sucks but that's OK. I am on my way. It's going to be a while before I have other people call me that in person but feel free to call me Gabrielle. Love and faith.

For me, silly as it sounds, an angel whispered my feminine name in my ear. I heard, Norah and for whatever reason, it just fit me.

I looked up to an artist, ever since I was a child he inspired me. He died when I was 13. I looked up to him so much and he died young. For years I’ve always wanted his name just becuz I respected him so much but since he tragically died I felt like I was stealing it so I hesitated. But I learned that literally everyone names their kids after ppl who inspire them so my guilt went away and I proudly took on the masculine name.

Mine was justin and wanted something that could be neutral and ended up going with Harper. Plus the name fits. I looked in the mirror and went thru a ton of names and that was the one i was always stuck on. Just look in the mirror and say "i am(name)". It may take a while but worked for me.

I choose the birth name of the author I most admire (George Orwell, which was a pseudonym). I seemed like he always had to hide too.

because I had to live on both sides of the fence and I still wasn't 100% comfortable, I made the choice to choose an androgynous name, That way regardless what I wore, or how someone saw me, they wouldn't look twice.

You know I really did consider something androgynous but nothing spoke to me. I really have latched onto Gabrielle. I've never known anybody in my life personally with the name but i just really like it. Yes it is definitely feminine but that is who I want to be. I want to be feminine so I feel like it just works for me. I still can't latch onto a middle name though. I have considered Isabella but I'm just not sure yet. No rush though. Something will speak to me eventually. Love and faith.
