This community is here to support and help the large population of transgender people. If you or anyone you know identify as transgender, this is the place to share your feelings and experiences and speak with others who are going through similar things in their lives.
Not too long ago during the early moments at my transition, (I had posted a topic here about "Transgender Care vs Hospital". Today in the up coming following days I am invited to attend a hospital meeting that is opening their doors for the very first time to the Lgbtq community. The purpose of this meeting is to basically to make changes in the hospital policy for a transgender-friendly hospital. Along with other guest speakers I too will be speaking out concerning the times I've been mistreated as a transgender patient. Sorry everyone this is going to be a private meeting, and so no video cameras won't be allowed. Anyway, I'll need to prepare for my speech what I want to say.

That is wonderful news. I was asked by several hospitals years ago to do the same and I decided that instead of telling my experience per se, I broke the experience into issues to be addressed and that are lacking in that hospital
I simply stated that based on my experience in the health care system I found the following issues: not asking me what pronoun I preferred to be addressed by, lack of empathy towards my situation, refusal to treat me with dignity, you get the gist.
Something like that is more effective, so when they ask for examples you narrow down the topic at hand. These folks are after facts and solutions , the briefer the better.
