Hi----It's kind of hard to comment on your extensive body pain, but I do know for a fact that tmjd, in a somewhat advanced stage can cause major muscular spasms, far reaching,,,like lower back, even leg cramps. When your lower jaw is out of alignment, and especially if you have a tooth gearing problem, where you have an unstable bite, this can cause major symptoms. They can range from dizziness, brain fog, neck, shoulder, lower back pain, jaw clicking, grating, dislocation, dislocated tmj discs, ear pain, headaches, blah, blah, blah, I could go on forever. If your mandible is not in the correct position, it can cause upper cervical issues, like a forward head posture, swallowing problems, the discs in your neck can become compressed, causing neck pain, nerve pain, etc. Tmjd is not just centered around the jaw. In certain stages, it can effect your entire body. It can be treated, but finding the right tmj specialist is critical. A splint alone will NOT get you better.
