I am surprised your audiologist did not explain to you how the brain needs to adjust to a new sound.
It can take several months for your brain to adjust to TRT/ZEN.
The brain is hearing something new, and does not understand it as of yet.
Once the brain adjust to the sound, you will start seeing a difference.
The whole process to turn around your tinnitus can take a year to two years, it all depends at what level your tinnitus is at (you should start seeing some improvement in possibly 3 to 6 months)..
If I were you, have your settings set for 1 normal hearing. 2 Zen white noise only. 3 ZEN Chimes.
I use 3 in the morning, and 2 during the day.
White noise, is more effective. But the chimes will relax you while you are at home.
I see the audiologist again in a week. I will try to get them adjusted to like the way you have yours. Thanks !
your hearing aids. I just told my wife your price and my total package comes to around 6,000 dollars. But that comes with all kinds of extras built in. Anyway here is an interesting article about the price of hearing aids. Jon

I tried Neuromonics and my tinnitus would compete against the "music" of this device, some say that subsides but I returned them as I was to afraid things would get worse rather than better. Tinnitus is, in addition to annoying, angst inducing and feelings of dread, a cruel mind game.
They are still not 'helping' much. I did go and get a second opinion on my Phonex hearing aids. This audiologist adjusted them totally different to what i had. He showed me on the computer how i was not getting the high pitched sounds so adjusted the settings. It was very hard at first because it sounded like everyone was talking with a mic. Its been 2 months and in fact am feeling like the days are a bit more tolerable.
Those ones retail for $3,500.
