I wish you luck Dave.
Again, I wish you the best of luck.
I have had Tinnitus now for about 5yrs and when i first got it , as it came onto me very suddenly, i confess i had thoughts of suicide i just thought that i would never be able to live with this confounded hissing noise continually going on in my head. However i sought out help and with the help and advice that i was given i have learnt to live with Tinnitus, over the years my Tinnitus has become a little less noisy and consequently a little less bothersome shall we say. One of the best pieces of advice that i was given but one of the hardest to accept was this "Learn to Accept your Tinnitus and DONT fight against it "
Before we got Tinnitus we were used to having periods of silence but now we no longer have this privilege we have constant noise, imagine then please that you were borne with this noise that you now have in your head, you would know nothing else you would not know what silence was like and so this noise that you have would have been part of you just like silence HAD been part of you, do you see what i am getting at? So my friend, friends, the sooner that a person learns to ACCEPT his, hers, Tinnitus and the more relaxed he or she becomes about it the better it will be.I could go on but please forgive me i have not written on this site for a few years now and i guess i am nervous at making myself look foolish but if i can help you or anyone else it would be my privilege to do so. One last thing though avoid any stimulant such as caffeine.Best wishes Pete (Ratkins)
