I have been using Neurontin for many years for a neck injury.
I got off of it many times as the neck seemed to be doing better.

Each time I got back on, because I did something I shouldn't have done that caused the neck pain to return, i noticed my ear would stop ringing for a day or two. Then it would go into a 24/7 pattern, but a little quieter.

Does anyone know if Neurontin has been used for treatment of T?
I know it has been used for other things neurological in nature, but has it helped anyone else with T. in this group?

Neurontin or gabapentin Gabapentin works by stabilising electrical activity in the brain. Gaba is a chemical in the brain that stabalizes electrical activity. The idea is to add the chemical to further reduce nerve pain and seizure activity. This could be why it reduces the level of tinnitus noise affecting you.
They will probably write me a scrip for it when I see the neurologist. I was given it before but didnt give it a chance and my tinnitus started well after I threw those horse pills out.

This goes along the line of DarkSons reply. I have been on gabapentin/Neurontin for years. I have had Screamin T since about 1979. And yes you can live with it. It drove me crazy in 79 and I have done pretty well since then... I also have Major Panic/ or seizures. It depends on the doctor. GP's say seizures, all the scans and specialist say, panic attacks, but they are wicked.... I have been on Gaba/neurontin for about 10 years. It is something the doctors probably think I will always take.

I am more successful at age 52 than I have ever been. I have even done a couple of Christian/clean stand up routines. I need to do more. It is a natural high and I have only got good comments from the audience. I guess when you help others you also help yourself.

I have found that ringstop, Sentrum silver, and HTTp/tri(something) have very, very bad reactions and side affects for me.

I guess you are saying Neurontin has helped your T.?

I think doing stand up comedy is great. I sing in a choir and love it.
I think helping people is important, and you do get much back from it.

I tried it and in high doses - it didn't help T - but everyone is different - my doc thinks Neurontin is okay and nonaddictive - and wanted to take my xanax and give me Neurontin - I have read many articles on the gaba theory and why Neurontin works for that.

If you found something that directly effects your T AND isn't toxic and is in a generic form and affordable - hey, pursue it.
