Sorry it has been so long since any update has been given. I have had some family tragedies for a few months.... Well, to get on with it. If some of you are not aware, I have been using a scenar unit since the first or second week of June. Immediately a reduction occurred with my sensitivity to sound. This I cannot deny whatsoever. The process of using this unit was very slow. At times I wanted to post something but really didn't know what to say b/c I was hoping this bit of progress was not just wishful thinking. I also didn't want any of the naysayers to sway anyones opinion until I felt I was definite on my progress. I went from being in a suicidal state in June to a somewhat normal lifestyle by mid-july. I was able to go on our family vacation to Florida. I was quite reluctant b/c I still had a fear of leaving my safezone (my house). I took my scenar with me and my xanax. We went to the place I feared the most, Disney World. I had it in my mind that after my 1st encounter with an amusement park in May that my ringing would for sure go out of control from the noise. To my surprise, Nothing happened. I only did about 2 scenar treatments that whole week due to me not wanting my ringing to increase temporarily and I got myself off of the xanax completely. The scenar unit is great for reducing my level of T but it does tend to increase it initially after a treatment. This increase can last for 1-3 days depending on how long of a treatment I did. After 6 long months of having severe T I feel I have now got a hold on it. I do many more treatments nowadays. The ringing that occurs after a treatment is just a residual tone that is different from my T. In the beginning I could not tell the difference but it is easier now. I made the decision to go back to work Oct. 1. One week prior to going back I decided to do as many treatments as possible regardless of the residual ringing. To my surprise my T went so Low that it was barely audible. I am thinking now that I probably should have been doing this all along but when I had a good day I wanted to enjoy it and not do a treatment. Well, in my opinion if that matters I believe this scenar unit to have a positive effect on tinnitus. My T has not gone away yet but is decreasing gradually. I'm not sure what else to say but if anyone has questions I would be happy to answer them.
Also, do you have any hearing loss - my doc tells me my cochleas are damaged and nothing will ever help and it has manifested itself as hearing loss and tinnitus.
I have read some other posts that said the scenar didn't do much for them. If you don't mind how much did you pay for this? I have looked and looked online and can't find much info about it. I know they sell on eBay for a tidy sum of money. Enough I won't drop it without knowing it will get me good results.

As is my tinnitus(meniere's). The hair cells are dead and those that are left are also dying. Once they are dead they are dead. There is some research happening with regrowing hair cells as they found that birds were capable of doing this(wish I was a bird) but it's a long way off. At the risk of being labelled a naysayer(again) I really hate to see people spending there hard earned money chasing unreachable dreams through shear desperation.
