I haven't done one in a long while but have done several over the years anything from 3 days to 30 days. It takes motivation and focus for me to get into it. but I would definitely say give it a go.
but please make sure you are educated on it and know what you are doing.
To me fasting is relatively safe if you do your homework. It's been around for centuries for a way of health and healing and of course for spiritual purposes too.
Just make sure you drink plenty of fluids. clean water and fresh juices. herbal teas, Water fasts are harder on the body and release more toxins more quickly.
I do not know how toxic your diet is.
It is really best to not go gung ho into a fast and gradually build up to it otherwise the 'withdrawal' symptoms can be harsh on the body, especially on the kidneys and liver.
by building up to it I mean, cut caffeine, sugar for a few days prior to the actual fast but still eat. but eat more 'clean' foods and then go onto the fast.
sometimes going straight into a fast when someone has been eating a 'toxic' diet. the withdrawals can be hard. severe headaches...sweats, shakes....flu like symptoms.
it depends on the individual and on how long a fast you go for.
the first 2 or 3 days can be difficult of a fast depending on the kind of lifestyle you have been living.
someone who lives a 'clean' lifestyle of eating fresh non processed foods, no caffeine, no sugar, no smoking..alcohol, they are going to have less of a hard time compared to someone who lives an unhealthy lifestyle.
I hope that a 2 or 3 day fast will bring you some results...I would say if you can go beyond the 3 days the results maybe more accurate as like I said the first couple of days is when a lot of toxins are being released.
if you want any more help. I am here and I also know of a good website on fasting.

i am so negative because this shit has destroyed my life, and I am barely clinging onto semi sanity by my fingernails...bob
I wanted to be dead yesterday,, honestly...
Around 9 pm last night, I took some xanax [.5 mg XR] and a little gabapentin [200 mg], and thank You Jesus I got a full 8 hours sleep, and today I was a LOT better... T was mostly in my right ear, and was much more managable... Not a great day, but MUCH better than my "fast day"... I doubt salt or sugar are triggers for me.
The day I went without both, was hell on earth..
I am now quite afraid to try fasting again... bob
