You have a blessed day as well.
I am so sorry to hear about the increase in your tinnitus just from taking a simple nap. There have been times when my tinnitus was a lot louder as well after taking a nap and it took a really long time for it to settle back down to normal. Hopefully this spike doesn't last very long and after it is over your tinntus will be reduced in volume.
In the mean time try to relax because worrying and stressing out makes it a lot worse. If you use maskers turn them up a little to try to block out as much of the sound as possible. Try as best you can to keep your mind off of it by do things like exerciseing, massage therapy, listing to music on your ipod, etc...
If you drink a lot of caffine try to reduce the amount you take in for a period of time and reduce your salt in take if possible. I know that all of this sounds pointless, but it is worth a try.
Take care of yourself and treat yourself with kindness.
WHAT ARE U WAITING FOR? listen to me, xanax helos a lot!
TAKE IT NOOOOW!
I wish you the very best,
Sandy
It might just be me but I find that I can accept tinnitus spikes so much better if I know what caused them. If I know it was a nap or a big plate of salty food or a loud noise it doesn't bother me as much because I know what caused it and I know that it will end. If the spike comes out of nowhere for no reason, it will cause me to panic and stress. I guess in one situation I feel like I'm in control and in the other I'm not.
I don't know what caused my spike to occur, my family and I were driving back home from Cleveland when all of a sudden the hissing got a little louder than normal. There are times when this has a occured for a few seconds and then settles back down, but this particular spike has lasted about two weeks going from moderate to severe at times. I am in the process of going back to all my therapys that I once was on and should have continued with. I also am going back to an ENT who is trained in TRT therapy and I am hoping that I qualify for the therapy not just the counseling.
I just hate living my life around tinnitus, I am only 39 years old with a family to take care of and I am just so very tired/grouchy at times.
I hope you have a great day.
Hope yours will settle soon
