Has anybody out there who had surgery and this happened to them? I'm beginning to think they did something to my brain! I feel like I am trying to slowly go crazy. I can't even function today because of this noise!!!

I had a hysterectomy in Oct. of 06,and the noise got worse. I had T for 6 years before the surgery but it was very low and tolerable. Afterward it was a lot louder. I'am going through Tinnitus retraining therapy right now and hopeing that will help some, so far I've had some quiet days so I'am keeping my fingers crossed.I know what you are going through but it will get better, just keep the faith. Hugs , Fall

Thanks Fall! Today it has been some better. Seems like its worse tonight though. If I had this before it wasn't bad enough to notice or bother me.

Mine is there, but not loud. My doctor told me to just learn to live with it, as there isn't a ton you can do. Learn to ignore it and keep away from tiggers (for me,caffeine, salt, wine).....

My T is only in my right ear, very seldom it will be in my left ear but very faint, thank God. I don't hear the noise every day, but when I do hear it, it seems loud, but what do we have to compare it too, everyone hears it differently. Nothing in particular triggers my T, it just comes and goes whenever it wants. Here's hopeing things will be better this new year. Hugs Fall

Sometimes I feel I will go crazy, too. Hang in there.

Thanks everybody! My doc today is going to talk to my ENT to see if he suggests doing anything. She too said sometimes there is nothing you can do for it!

I have pulsatile tinnitus in my left ear (constant), had surgery for aneurysm on the left artery, the tinnitus is still there and it seems like it's louder now, but I have huge scar on my neck from the surgery, not totally healed up yet........I just wish it would stop!!!!

Hello Peppercat, I know how you feel, when my T won't quieten down I feel like bashing my head into the wall, but that won't help any , just makes you more anxious and upset. I just try to stay calm, because it will eventually get better , the longer you have T the easier it gets, believe me I've had it for 6 years now. Always have some sound around you either soothing music or some sounds from nature such as running water, birds chirping, etc. Never stay in total silence. When you are sleeping have a radio playing, fan running or anything that will help mask the tinnitus,or mix with it.In tinnitus retraining therapy the sound you hear through the ear genetrators doesn't mask the tinnitus but mixes with it to retrain your brain not to hear it. Hang in there brighter days are coming. Your friend, Fall
