Thats me.. I must be.. You see I cannot get better.. I should but I can't..
I am a member on another T forum. A bigger, faster, slicker, forum than we have here.. Nice forum, lots of really nice people that care, and want me to get better. I have nothing but praise for the forum, the members and administrators,, however, i feel i don't belong there.. The majority of members there are well habituated, despite intense, severe tinnitus.. I simply cannot get the grasp of having a calm, tranquil, lovely enjoyable life with catastrophic T.. yet that is the norm it seems.. I am NOT a person with a normal reaction to severe, intrusive T. I have person after person telling me their lives are full and rich, and they are at peace, and happy despite the screaming in their heads 24/7.. Screaming that they can go for days without hearing, until they actually listen for it..
i cannot get a handle on severe T, that
1- you can't hear.. or
2 doesn't impact you in the least even if it is always there and at extremely intense volume...
When I call into question the theory that if you can't hear T for weeks at a time, how can it be considered severe?. I am made to feel like a fool. Probably not intentionally, as I said, they ARE nice folks.... I am at a total loss, and I feel i am roundly disliked by people I like because I am incredulous at these notions that you can have truly severe t, that is overwhelming in intensity, yet you can't hear it, or it doesn't bother you in the least.. "
Here we talk about the problems t causes in our lives.. With only a few exceptions,the other forum has almost all very content, peaceful and happy folks that happen to also happen to have truely severe tinnitus... I feel like an idiot, I really do.. i simply CANNOT make any sense of this, and feel that yes indeed I AM to blame for my misery.. I can't put this horrid screaming that never stops to rest and become the happy guy I was.. Thousands of others have, but as a I said, I AM the misfit/freak..... I MUST be... bob

I have a doc's appointment next week where I will try to get a referral for a MEG scan. I've had enough of this bullshit.
I have a MEG scanner 10 minutes from where I live. I researched it on the web. Even if Dr.J is unable to help me, I would still contribute to the investigation of severe debilitating tinnitus by having my brain scanned.
Look, how many people do you know with debilitating tinnitus who've had their brain scanned? Probably NONE?
If everybody on this forum and Yuku forum had their brain scanned for tinnitus and sent it over to Zurich, imagine how much more tinnitus knowledge would be amassed.
Imagine all people with debilitating arthritis would just sit at home and practice CBT - no MRI's, no blood tests, no nothing....and expect the medical community to take them seriously?
Maybe I'm not making much sense, but that's what I think.
I was asked by Daedalus on the Yuku forum, what would I do with an MEG scan in Canada? I jokingly answered I'd send it over to NASA for the next deep space rocket launch - maybe a supreme alien race could figure this shit out.
I hope you can find some peace soon. I know it is hard, but you are not alone, which I guess can be good, or sad. :-)
Also, wondering if pretty much all of us who watch this site don't have it severely? I come here most when the T gets the best/worst of me.
24/7/365 for me since 1996, and on and off for many years before that.
Incredibly loving wife, 6 and 8 year olds, and love of my work keep me on the planet.
