Seeking encouragement/sorry again

Hello folks,
Well, I am sorry to be so needy, and please excuse if I might repeat myself, however I have stopped mentioning my T., to my husband, as "what can he do" and I had a bad day yeserday, especially since Thursday I could hardly even hear my T during the day at all, it seemd so peaceful.
At any rate, had a bad day yeseterdat though leaving me feeling very "doomed" again.
The ongoing thinking that I have a brain tumor, anyerisum, or such, is driving me crazy.
I even went to the Library yesterday, looking up symptoms.
As I said, also that fear in part due to I did
have a abnomral MRI approx 10 years ago, even though my doctor calmed me by saying my ringing has nothing to do with that, the abnormal MRI is most likely from my migrianes, or my immune syndrome, has not presented new symptoms, or changed, my last MRI was 3 years ago. My headaches are not worse, I am not dizzy, just the darn ringing!!!!!
I read "more serious T." is palsating, roaring palsating, and usually one ear, is that ture????? Do any of you know? I also have neuropathy, in my feet, and I read people that have that can also have T. Oh my gosh, I am driving myself nuts! It could be this that.
My T, is more in my right ear, but also inlcudes my left at times, and after resting in both.
Now, I was very bad, and eating very healthy, 3 months ago, then started Yo Yo dieting, lost 20 lbs, up adn down then after. My ears have always rang when I diet, why who knows? Part of the reason I don't like to diet, and that is a healthy diet they ring.
After I was so scared with the unset of this intense new T I lost 10 lobs in one week, then after Easter binged on everything under the sun, and gained about 5 lbs back. Oh my!
The day before yesterday, stupid me, ate lost of candy drank soda, and coffee, chips, slit pea soup with ham, (from the Easter ham bone,) uggg, I felt icky! And did nothing but sit, worry, expet to take care of my elderly mother to a doctors appt.
Then yesterday afternoon, I was to watch my one year old grandson, (daughter and husband and Stuart live 50 miles from me) I drove there, (they live in mountains, yikes ears always pop.)
My ears started up, ring, hiss, and off.
Then the poor little guy, my one year old grandson Stuart was noted very warm, and started with a 102 fever, so I ended up not bringing him back to my house.
The doctor told my daughter to take him to ER if his fever did not go down, since it was late Friday, past office hours. It did come down to 100 after Tylenol.
I worry so, he has had several ear infections, and last week on medicine for a small skin staff infection, so we did not know what was from what.
Also, my daughter had several ear infections at his age, up to teens, she had over 12 ear surgeries, so I think it brought back some scary memories. Also, my daughter is 5 months pregnant now, they just bought a house, and have a one year old, so I like to help her out often, but she does live a distance, and our WNY weather has not been so great to drive, bad winter, bad rains, not our town was it Thursday with the worst wind storm 85 miles per hour, a driving ban was on, what a mes clean up now. Sorry off topic.
Anyway I got home late yesterday, again driving 50 miles, and my 86 year old mom called me very upset, she lives in an Assistant living home. So I needed to go tend to her, in doing so I went through fast food, which I usually do not do, and ate a bad meal, and soda again, what a fool I am, right.
Well, a fellow that lived there, passed, one that I actually liked very much, he had no family, and I always chatted with him and gave him special attension.
My mom was sad, me too. On my way home I started to cry, but held back, due to I feared my T getting worse.
My sister that was here for a week, has not called my mom nor I, since she left, (another family issue) both my sisters live out of state, one in CA, one in Hilton Head, both very well off, which leaves me the only sibling here to care for my mom. Anyway, at that time, I found out my sister that was here, went to my other sisters in Hilton Head to relax and vacation, after being here for only one week to help me with my mom. Neither come home often to visit, or help me, and my mom has been in and out of the hospital 8 times in the past 5 years, now my mom is senile, and very frail.
Well, needless to say, I got home, feel asleep on the sofa, very upset, missed my dogie, my husband went to bed, he gets up early for work, and I have not been even sleeping with him, due to my T., I am up so often.
I woke up at mid night, my ears ringing so loud, I had a panic attack, my BP was up, and oh my gosh "what a mess."
Then knowing I have to go back to my daughters town today, since her and her husband have a graduation to go to, and I am caring for my grandson, I did not want to take any med that might make me feel funny such as Zanax. I still have not taking any BP med., because "well you know"
So, I got up, watched a bit of TV, moved about, and the ringing calmed down a bit. But, since as I stated it always is worse when I wake up, then I feared going to sleep again. I proped pillow up on the sofa, and fell asleep, but woke up several times.
Then when I woke up this morning, the usual fearce both ear hissing was not there, but a on off loud ring was in my right ear.
I got up moved around, took a hot shower, drank two big glasses of water, thining maybe it would do something to help, and now the ringing has turned back to low keyed both ears hiss/ ring/ but tolerable, so I am to be off soon.
To be honest, I do know that part of my anxiety/depression was quit present before this severe T began, because I went to my family doctor as I have told you before it started to ask him if there was anything I could take for the depression/anxiety. It was that point he foucused on the high blood pressue.
I have always been on and off again about eating good, but when I diet, my ears always rang, but now so lost in it all, I can't remember how my ears rang before this sudden worse unset, just know that I had T.
I guess the changing tones, rings, and so on in my ears is sort of the "normal" am I correct in assuming that? I also read that high cholesterol can cause T to become worse is that true?
I am getting tired from the worry, that is for sure, I do try to keep busy, but the worry still of "not knowing" why it is so bad, is over powering me. As I said, if I could pin point my sudden worse t to loud music, cold, new med., maybe I would be able to deal better, but just one night the hissing upon awaking, going away a week, then back now for almost a month, on off , here there, just seems so odd, even though I have many things that could contibute to it, and my life seems upset, still the fear of serious just scares me. And everyone has lots going on in their lifes right, so I can't assume the T. is from stress could I?
Thanks for listening. Pleas excuse spelling.

Coping with the stress and flustration brought about with tinnitus can be depressing to any of us who have it. The one sure way to lower our degree of tinnitus is by keeping a good healthy attitude. We must think in positive terms, maintain the right attitude and focus on your day to day life as it comes and goes. Do not allow yourself to think in negative terms as this will only create more stress thus intensify the noise that you presently hear.
Watch your diet or what you eat. I love everything with suger in it. However, if I over indulge, I then get a mood swing which can be similar to a diabetic condition which is not uncommon when we get older. I would certainly advise you to cut down on sugar as this can intensify the 'T', as I could sure tell the difference when I began to ration my sugar intake.
Blessings
Like you I also have neuropathy. Like you my tinnitus is usually in one ear but sometimes it sneaks over to the other ear. Take your BP medication cause high blood pressure could be the cause of your tinnitus. That was the first thing that was taken care of when I came down with tinnitus. Didn't help but for 10 years now my BP is normal. I had a non tinnitus day Friday but it was back in full force Saturday.
I just shake my head when it does that cause for the life of me it makes no sense. My tinnitus has increased in volume this past month so to get to sleep I listen to white noise on my MP3 player. Never had to do that before(tinnitus 11 years). You have to get to a doctor to address your fear and anxiety about having a brain tumor. Get that question answered and move on. I don't like Xanax either but I do take clonazepam(Klonopin)and Amitriptyline 2 hours before bed and will admit is help's a great deal with my sleep.
I usually never wake up during the night and that is nice. Hang in there and get some questions answered. Find a good doctor that will work with you. My doctor even helped me apply for disability from my job and that was back in 2006. Take Care, John
I also find any stimulants make my t. worse, and worry is the worst for me as well as salt and sweets. I also found that decongestents can make it worse also.
I have what is called, reactive t. which means sounds make mine go up. It is hard to live with at times but I am trying hard.
Naps, I think makes everyone's t. worse, not sure why.
I wish you the best and you are at the right place, people here car and so do I.

Waking up today seeing so many posts gave me a bit of a lift, since last night was dreadful for me, due to T.
Yesterday I went to see The Pirates of Penzance the musical, with my daughter, it was really good and my t., was at bay the entire time which pleased me just fine. I did have just a little hissing here and there at night while watching a movie with my husband. I was thankful, but still a tad anxious.
I just don;t feel right, if I might put it that way. I think because the T., is always there to some degree, and tires me out the worry, and waking up at night dealing with it.
I appear to associate my T with not being well.
I also have been having hot flashes at night the past 4 months. I did go through menopause early approx 6 years ago, had hot flahses then, so why they returned only at night though??? I have a ultra sound tomorrow, requested from my GYN. I did not mention my T,, when I saw him, did not have it then.
I have always woke up through the night though with or with out the T., and with our with out the hot flashes, that is not new.
My T. for sure has a SET patteren, I have been keeping track of that.
It starts up strong approx one or two hours after I fall asleep, and goes down after I get up and move about. So, needless to say, I wake up at night to a loud hissing, panic, get up and about to rid it, so getting little sleep!
I have thought maybe I should try to sleep sitting up in the recliner, to see if that helps. Is it laying down, the sleeping, or does my chemistry change, hormones that could cause the rining at night?????
I was tested for B12, D, one year ago, very very low B12 and D, high cholesterol too, took B12 shots for a month, diet to see if cholesterol lowered, D strong pills, and was retested a few weeks ago, but have not gone back to the doctor for results.
Noise does not bother my T, showers mask it, it is a high piched hiss/ring at times, come on in off in "waves" at times, does that happen to any of you?
In the evening my T turns often into a hummm, if I am tired, with the hiss ring on top of it.
My T sounds like it is coming from my ears, not my inner head, and my right ear more so, but left is not left out.
I have no other symptoms what so ever that are new with this T., I am not dizzy, my ears do not feel full, no pain, my balance is ok, no new headaches, just the darn T.! But I suppose that is a good sign right?
My left ear however does "tick" at times, but my ears have ticked at times in the past too, so I can't even say that is a new symptom.
I did make an appt with my Neurologist, the appt is in two weeks from tomorrow.
I am to have a follow up appt with my family doctor, for my BP check, but since I have not yet took the BP med. I have not gone back yet. (bad me)
I had a busy past two weeks, but today I plan to take my first BP pill. Will it make me turn green? Yikes I am so darn scared to take that stupid pill!
As you know I fear meds if you don't remember, now fearing the diurtic would make me dizzy, or sick so did not take it yet. Or even worse make my ears ring more, bad excuse right?
In regard to my BP, it is approx 140/90 every morning now when I first get up for the past week. Is that very high do you think?
However during the night when my ears are ringing like crazy it reads approx 115/70, normal is approx 120/80, so I find it ood that is always up and down, and does not really connect with high readings and my ears ringing????
My doctor was in impressed by my up and down BP, seeming that was normal.
My doctor also did run a "special" test for my BP while in his office last time. It is like a EKG machine, that also reads your BP too.
He stated my high BP is the "typical" high BP type, by reading this test, also stating my heart was very strong. He said the med will
take away the spikes, with out making me go to low. I should trust him! He said my T., was not serious, and did not seem to take to much concern it it, but did say to come back.
I ordered the Turn Down the Volume book and should be getting it by mail tomorrow.
Today is a new day, I am hoping to be brave take my BP med., not worry to much, try not to get myself to worked up.
John, again I am sorry you are going through some truly difficult, and sad times too.
Thanks again everyone. I am also sorry to hear of your T., but your positive attitudes, and insights on T., and the "what to do" and "what not to dos" that have helped you, has helped me much...(smile)
I hope you all have a nice day.

I always wake up after 8 hrs of sleep and find my Sony and headphones on the floor. So at some point in time, and I don't remember doing it,I have taken the headphones off and put the Sony Walkman on the floor.
The good thing about this is the Sony will turn itself off when the tape ends. The Sony has a great battery life. You can find a great selection of white noise on Amazon.com. Just type in "White Noise" on the MP3 tab on Amazon.com.
You can even listen to a sample of the white noise that your interested in. It's a great site for this. This is where I buy my songs that I put on my MP3 player. Hope this helps.
Oh my gosh, it almost sounds as if I am writing about a laughing silly topic. (smile on my end)
At any rate, believe it or not, yesterday when I was going to start taking my pill for BP,for the very first time, I was 95/55., in the afternoon and through the nightit was low too. I thought that was odd, so low, so I was scared to take the BP meds., once again I found an excuse.
The ringing was tolerable last night too, not bad at all. If there is a connection to my BP I truly can't tell for sure, maybe.
I slept fairly good too, except for waking up with a hot flash. When I did wake up though the usual "hiss" in my ears was lower than usual too. This mornign the "hiss" was present, but did not seem as loud, but I could also be getting used to it. So very very very frusterating this T., as I over think is so, its hard to tell just what is what, if you can understand what I am saying.
I took my BP this morning, before coffee, it was 115/80 which appears normal. It does seem to go higher if I drink coffee and not eat. I also have an appt for a ulra sound today, my GYN orderd that, since I am having hot flashes. So, I suppose I am on my way with the "tests."
However my BP seems to go up and down though, day by day.
As I said, that did not seem to concern my family doctor much, or did the ringing ears.
He took that BP test a couple times on me hooked up to the EKG, it is suppose to dectect acurate BP. At home it is not usually high, although it does go high as 145/90 even at home sometimes.
So what I question is, does BP in folks that have "normal" BP go high at times during the day too, as mine does? Sorry maybe I should not ask that question on this forum. I do obsess to much, over many things including health issues as you can see, as well as not take my doctors advice. If he is correct in me needing to take BP meds, I should, I don't want to end up having a stroke or heart attack! Any input I would appreciate, thanks.
John, I do have a CD sony and tape also and plan to go look up the white sound as you suggested. Can you buy the CD or tapes in stores? I think your suggestion would help me a great deal, and background noise appears to mask my type of T very nicely at this point. Thanks for the suggestion.
Pattylyn
I was shocked! For me by listening to the white noise static I simply could not hear my tinnitus at all and the good part was the sound level that I needed to listen to was very, very low. I remember the first time I tried this I could actually sit in the rocking chair and read the newspaper without hearing the intrusive tinnitus noise. My life with having tinnitus changed at that moment. What it gave me was the ability for me to shut the noise off whenever I wanted to.
It gave me full control of my tinnitus and when YOU have control over your tinnitus, your ahead of the game. I later bought the Moses/Lang Masking CD and found that track 3 did a better job at masking my tinnitus than plain white noise. That was 10 years ago and I still use it. Go to "My Photos" and you will see a picture of what the Moses/Lang CD looks like.
I would urge you to go to Amazon.Com and click on MP3 songs and type in "White Noise" and it gives you many, many choices . You can preview any song(white noise)that they have and you should be able to find a track that will mask your tinnitus 100%. And it will cost you less than a buck.
Download it to your MP3 player and hit the repeat song option and that way you can loop the track and it will play over and over again so YOU can choose not to listen to your irritating tinnitus noise. This will change your attitude and you will feel better for it. As far as your BP medication I take Ziac(it's generic so it's very cheap)and it also is a diuretic and it works great.
Doctor told me it's working great for me cause it actually takes the high's and low's out of my BP readings and stabilizes it in the normal range. So I would really talk to your doctor about this. I would think having a stable BP reading is the goal. Take Care, John
