Seeing a Neurologist

I have noticed a few people on this thread have mentioned seeing a neurologist for treatment for tinnitus...I was wondering if anyone has been helped by a neurologist...what did they do for you...what additional tests, above what an ENT would order, have they done...is it worth going to see one...I am considering it, since I have seen my primary dr. and two different ENT's and you all know what they have told me...that there is no cure, you will habituate in time, and you have to learn to live with it...somewhere inside of me, I have this little strange feeling that someone is missing something with me....so has anyone out there had any real help from a neurologist???

I saw a neurologist that specialized in vascular functions etc....I can say I got helped but I was able to rule out with somewhat of assurance that I am not having blood flow problems that could be causing my T. I also had him go over my ct/mri stuff in case there was anything missed.

I think for me just the comfort of seeing someone of that level of knowledge gave me peace of mind on a few major critical things I was thinking about. But, anything conclusive? Nope.

I saw a neurologist too and he did nothing for me. If you go for peace of mind that would be worth it. Also if you want to find a drug that might help, mysoline has helped some and I went to my gp last week, she wouldn't give me the prescription but said a neurologist could. So if you go and find everything checks out okay you may want to talk to him/her about mysoline while you are there.

I see a neuro and he hasnt helped me in anyway for T, just my neuropathy. I kinda noticed right away that he was going to ignore the tinnitus part of my griping so I left it alone.

I see a Neuro for a different reason but I did ask him about T during one appt and he said he knows absolutely nothing about it
